I like Bernie the Bolt, but his chance does require a leap of faith. He was ante post favorite for this last year before injury.

The obvious problem is that he hasn’t been seen this year. Equally, this is presumably the reason he is still in training and the Balding clan do have a good record in the race – even if Andrew is yet to win it. I’ll have a small dabble at 25-1.

I did wonder why Fencing had missed the Royal Lodge – where he would surely have gone very close. If I didn’t have doubts about Street Cry and the Derby trip i’d be on him already for Epsom.

I’m a big fan of Fencing, although he’s also entered in the Autumn Stakes. He has the breeding, has looked good in both runs and was heavily backed from 3-1 into 5-4f at Sandown last time.

Hi Zarkava – Like you’ve said, difficult to improve what is already a very good site.

However, they could do with a mobile site and/or app. It’s a nightmare accessing their site with an Android or iphone device.

Timeform race passes offer in running symbols.

There is also a simple speed points method: look at the last

    x

runs, give 4 points where a horse led before halfway, 2 points for a horse prominent before halfway.

Another 7mm overnight and heavy showers forecast all day..

    Golden Jubilee Stakes, Ascot
Definightly relishes soft ground and is drawn stands side. Likely to grab the rail and go for home.

Macs Power: Progressive sprinter with a decent draw, judged on yesterdays Buckingham. Was entered in the Golden Jubilee and also has a July Cup entry. Excellent trainer who has a good record in handicaps at this meeting.

Passion for Gold: Highly regarded horse who won Group 1 at Saint Cloud as a 2yo. Off a year through injury before showing signs of life in a nothing Goodwood race last time. May find this all too much after his injury but equally, is unexposed with a glimmer of top class potential.
