I think they should just retire him now, that leg will take a long time to heal and then there is getting his fitness back! and he will be older by then too, he was brilliant, think they should just decide on what’s better for the horse. He has certainly earned himself a comfy life for the future, don’t know if any you will agree

I quite like both really, but sometimes when it’s the jump season i miss the decent flat races  But there are some great horses for this years jump season and i’m looking forward to the return of Kicking King.
I’m getting the "winter feeling" i’m really looking forward to the winter for the jumps and the sales

it’s all publicity with dettori, he was at musselburgh once and all these kids were surrounding him and he didn’t even say thank you, his face was miserable as sin, although he must get bothered a lot a smile doesn’t take much effort, but when there are cameras around he’s all fall it, what does that tell you

Tony McCoy a true legend! Frankie Dettori seems to be the personality of racing. and Lester Piggott will be remembered by all with anyone with an interest in sport, nine derbys! There are plenty horses that people have heard of that don’t have a clue about horse racing!
I think horse racing just needs more young people to be involved. None of my friends seem to be interested despite taking them racing :?
Days at the races perhaps a little too expensive maybe? Or perhaps it’s the commentators that make it sound boring who knows

was so gutted to hear barbaro had gone, he seemed to be winning the battle and did so well to cooperate. everything seemed to be going so well but i suppose there always was a high risk in laminitis due to the broken leg and everybodys worst fears came true :(
he was such a beautiful chap, r.i.p barbaro

Coolmore have serious strength in depth, which is something Godolphin always had until recently when thing have seemed to die out a bit.
The Irish bloodlines are far more effective than anything that Godolphin have – hence the Authorized purchase.

Agree with you on the irish bloodlines being more effective, although it’s interesting to see how Teofilo will do

hmmm already looks like you did get yourself into a petty argument and i’m sorry if i took it the wrong way but that’s just the way i saw it, it was like you were impyling i was making it up :? You could have just asked if i was a jockey end off….but if i did get the wrong end of the stick then i’m sorry and i will let it go ok cause theres no need for the atmosphere everytime i fancy a discussion on here
i don’t want to argue either!

Those people are not knowledgable about racing, i bet they have never been to a racing yard and looked at it properly, they are treated like royalty! and are trained properly for races not just shoved on the track unfit and asked to run it’s heart out! If a horse did not want to race it wouldn’t, a horse can refuse to jump, enter the stalls, refuse to run! We don’t like to see a horse hurt in any way! but i have saw things in showjumping that are bad and nothing is ever said!
Have they looked at the retirement homes for racehorses, the life at stud-racehorses living on to their late 30s? what about desert orchid? horses die and it’s very unfortunate but it doesn’t just happen in horse racing it happens everywhere! sometimes putting the horse down is only the humane thing to do, horses love to run and being cooped up all the time because of a serious injury does no good for the horse, it just causes stress and causing more injury to the horse!
people like that need to get a grip of reality, not everything can go right no matter how much we care for our horses!

yeah racehorses have a great life of luxury and they are bred for racing and it’s in their blood
horse whisperer monty roberts once said that horse racing is the most natural spot for a horse because in the wild they would run close together in herds with miles of grass or sand infront of them which is what they race on! shwojumping is just as dangerous! and they land on a surface a lot harder than turf if they fall!
when i ride horses and they have been in their stable for a day off they are so excited to get on to the gallops -fresh as a daisy so it proves they do enjoy it! don’t see what all the fuss is about, accidents happen in every equine sport
