It;s always nice to see a decent horse get a decent retirement
Very nice picIn most of my experiences, men prove to be an utter waste of time, and space.
They’re useful for helping me reverse my car into a tight spot though.

Well said! I totally agree

I just believe there is always a reason why a horse bolts, perhaps he is just a bit of a fruitcake!
It will be interesting to see what the trainer tries with him!I also work with racehorses, I don’t see racehorses as cuddly ponies, I just think you should rule out all the other factors first before saying the worst about him and if the horse is a bolter then maybe he isn’t for the racecourse but putting a gun to his head is just not the answer! There are so many things you can try with him while he is still a youngster.
is my dirty mind kicking in or did i just take that the wrong way!
ooooh great idea! i love a good moan about men!

Good Luck Zoz hope it all works out for you
Yeah I think i will do the Kelly Marks course after all she has worked with the legend! There are many factors to consider though! You can’t just make your mind up about this horse and decide it’s a killer!
Is the horse usually like this on the gallops?
What head gear is on the horse to prevent strong pulling?
Has this horse had an accident on the gallops to give him a fear?
Did something frighten him on the course?
Was it just a one off?
Is the horse in pain somewhere? [Clearly not his legs]Although turning him out in the field and re-backing him does seem like a good idea if the horse is just so hard to handle! But i think there is a valid reason somewhere
I’ve ridden horses that have bolted before and there is always a solutionWas really nasty! Was lucky though the horse didn’t smash right into the stalls or into anyone else!
The jockey was also lucky that he came off when he did, if he went over the other rail he could have had a horse on top of him
Thank God though that the horse and jockey are both okay, maybe the horse should have a different noseband on and maybe a ring bit if he’s so strong, although i did hear francome say it was the wind that caused it.
However it’s not the horses fault, something caused him to go like that, remember they are flight animals he could have been frightened perhaps by the wind, or something along those lines! And he’s just a baby! It’s just unfortunate what happened
Simon Earle uses natural methods, keeps the horses outside at all times weather permitting! Keeps the horses in herds, runs the horses without shoes, uses sea water in the horse walker, and sometimes when he is loose schooling them he jumps on them bareback!
A trainer that doesn’t quite get the credit he deserves
a beautiful site there, thanks for the link! Thanks for the link to this, it looks very interesting.
I’m getting quite into natural horsemanship of late, and have been thinking of taking a course based on the Monty Roberts techniques for a while. Having read a book on horses MR has worked with during his life, I had wondered why join-up techniques, etc haven’t been used in English racing to more extent.
I particularly like the fact that members can see demonstrations of natural horsemanship with HF.
Cheers Pompete
I have been thinking about that course as well, but do you have to fly out to california? I was thinking about the Kelly Marks course for just a couple of days, i love Monty Robert’s join up methods he is a hero of mine and i try to use his techniques as much as possible especially with the racehorses

I’ve got a Japanese Shiba Inu called Charlie. He is red in colour and very foxy looking – hence the name. He was a top show dog in his youth and won best yearling at his breed show although now we just keep him as a pet.
awwww he sounds really cute!
You’re leaving home and you only just got him?
Oh noooooooo … sneak him away with you he’s still small enough to fit in your pocket
Yeah my mum bought him but now i’m so attached lol
