I can’t agree Banshe, having watched the race a few times I’m confident Carlingford would’ve picked up VL regardless ………..surely the jockeys went off way too fast today….what were they thinking??fine rightly third??crazy……

Keep the faith guys……..Good ground will see Ivanovich Gorbatov prevail come March 18th :good: the shock around Leopardstown was overwhelming today after his performance……however the ground was atrocious and Geraghty never asked him for anything after that Annie Power jump-a-like at the fourth last……..I’m surprised the horse stood up TBH….

I appreciate that TAPK…. reading back i’d probably phrase it differently but I wasn’t really giving the price as an reason for the superiority….more its just another fact backing the notion of Mullins in a different league. Also on the cost side i think you’ll agree while they have an eye for the best horses they do pay for them……The likes of Rich Ricci and co have paid a lot of money for some very average horses in their time also….even forking out 110k for a NH horse is big money…..Jonjo may have had four given to him last year but (and I’m open to correction on this because i don’t know) I would suspect Mullins probably has 5 – 10 of that sort of price given to him every year  The fact a horse like Konix beat Douvan also to me would not nessecarily mean Douvan was not clearly the horse with more potential….did he cost more or less than Konix?

I always used to look for an each way chance to take on the mullins shorties but I’ve stopped that altogether this year……..I know there’s no certainties in racing but there are four things we definitely know for certain in the run up to this festival…..

    1. Mullins is the best trainer, period.
    2. Mullins has the most powerful and wealthy owners
    3. Mullins has the best jockeys on his horses
    4. Mullins has the most expensive horses………. which in this case happens to translate to the best horses on all known form.

WHy would you look for alternatives against him?

Hi all, being reading for awhile and had to sign up as Cheltenham looms ever closer……god the days are ticking over at a snails pace!!my idea of a banker for the meeting is Ivanovich Gorbatov, still at a tasty 3/1…..Can see this horse going off at quite prohibitive odds on the day so still think there’s value to be had :) aside from his impressive debut over Christmas the quiet murmuring in circles in Ireland are that he’s the “one”!!
