Yes, the free bus is a nice touch.

I plan to go this year, my first time since Sea The Stars 2009. Anyway, in those good old days, it was a measly 8Euros to enter the course, and have access to the parade ring. However, a friend told me that the cheap entry days are over, or if you do get the cheap entry, you can no longer access the parade ring. Anyone any knowledge of this?

Thanks for that mate, I think it’s a goer!!
Won’t make the BWTS though, too many golf games on the itinerary!!
Maybe next year!

Best decision I have ever made and this will be the third and possibly last time I attend.
Always been in the Apron Views and the views are perfect – no need to spend top dollar on the most expensive seat.
In the past I have done my bets in advance but most of the local Brits/Americans do them on their phones. I asked them how they did it and they just turn the location setting off their phones and there you go, job done!
Drinking is not an issue either just make sure you can walk at the end!
All in all a cracking day and youd be mad not to!

Thanks mate, appreciated. Can i ask how much it was approx for entry to the Apron? And can you access the parade ring, as I do like to see the horses.

Yes, i appreciate everything you have said, but i am not against the tactics, im against him using them.
I just personally think his timing and judgement of pace, and when to strike, is poor.

Im not really looking for an answer, just venting my frustration.
Just watched him again there on Franklin D.He got chopped off, (unluckily) but as per, he broke well enough and decided to not sit in behind the leader, but to take it back……..and he blew it again.
I know they all do this depending on the horse/draw/instructions, but he in particular seems expert at producing his horse just too late.
I basically do now avoid him if i can, but if you fancy a horse on form, its hard to not back it due to the jockey….but if i see George Baker on a horse i fancy, i feel good….when i see its Spencer, my heart sinks.

Yes he does seem to talk and talk and say very little of substance.
Aye, Spencer does my nut in.Ive lost count of the amount of times he has just failed to get up when im on him. When i fancy a horse and he is on it, it almost puts me off backing it such is my lack of confidence in him.

Ha ha……given you a few dodgy tips then?

I think GH’s performance in the Eclipse has been underestimated.A lot has been made of the fact he took so long to get on top of The Grey Gatsby, but he still went on to win comfortably in the end against a very good horse(2nd to the brilliant Solow by a similar margin in March) which came to his quarters going very easy……but he still had the class to size him up and pull away.He is still new to the game relatively speaking and had never front run before, so every race is adding to his experience.
In my opinion he is very like Sea The Stars and im sure if he had been forward enough he would have made a real go of the Guineas like his half brother. The way he glided past his field in the Dante tells me he could easily have been placed at worst in the Guineas, and i am sure he will win the King George comfortably all things being equal.
Cant wait to watch him again.
