This is really getting a tad embarrassing now,if Frankel was own by say Coolmore and trained at Ballydoyle I doubt very much the same people would waxing lyrically about him.
I found it a cop out that they are ducking the race at York the Irish Champion stakes and even the Breeders cup,Frankel will get 10 furlongs no problem he is bred for it he has more stamina in his pedigree than his half brother bullet train,as Galileo is a far stronger stamina influence than Saddler’s wells every was.
Juddmonte are known for ducking a challenge,Workforce was due his 1st run in Ireland they ducked that and I remember Zofonic being pulled out of the ST James palace stakes at Ascot when he was due to take on Kingmambo as the grd they reckoned was to soft but they had no problem him taking his chance in the sussex stakes on grd that was softer
I dont get why they have decided to wait for Ascot when winning that race proves nothing.
Im a fan of Cecil always have been from back in his early days when he took over from his father in law Noel Murless, but I do think the fear of Frankel being beat at either York or over in Ireland is the reason there going to Ascot.

There no doubt Frankel is a very good horse but for me he is no better than ROG,Miesque or Zizal 3 of the very best milers every to grace The European scene in the last 30 yrs.
I would like to see him at York or even to go for the Irish champion stakes but I doubt it,he has very little to prove going for the QE11
If he was trained by any other trainer he would not be getting the plaudits he was dont get me wrong im a great fan of Henry Cecil, but I also remember him calling Bosra Sham and Sabrehill the best horses he had trained back in 97 and 93.
He is being wrapped in cotton wool he has only had 4 races you look back on other great champions in there 3yr old careers and they where well raced.
Especially if come oct and the groned is heavy at Ascot then he surly would not run.
SYS Was never off the bridle in his 1st 2 races in Ireland so he never had to dig into his reserves. In the POW he was at full stride and power so that race might well of brought him to full fitness
Great performance from the winner, but I agree with what Jim said on channel 4,im a big believer of the bounce theory it happened with Hawk Wing after his locking win Moscow flyer and even Zafonic after his guineas win
A horse cannot give a performance like that with out feeling it next next out and the way his jockey went off so fast and hard like that was stupid, yes it was a great performance but does any really think that he will have recovered from that in time for Epsom??This race has the hallmarks of the98 Guineas when it was all about the hype and excitement of Xarr funny enough who was owned by the same connections.
I would be surprised if Roderic didnt run especially when last week Aidan said Ryan Moore was going to ride him.
Beside When has Ballydoyle/Coolmore been scared of one horse???? Its not there style never has been, considering when they ruled Zoffany out of the race when he was one of the ones I thought had a very good chance.
I see the racing post are reporting that frankels connections are running a pacemaker for him in the guineas, which im sure is just a ploy to put ballydoyle off running one. if they are serious lets hope he does a better job than picture editor in the greenham which was laughable considering he went so slow for the 1st half of the race, For me I think pace is key to frankel and if there is a strong pace in the guineas which it tends to be then I doubt frankel will have things all is own way
One thing that should concern anyone thinking of backing Frankel for next yrs guineas is the amount of top class 2yrs that Cecil has trained over the yrs and to my mind only Reference Point and Bosra Sham where the only 2 that seemed to train on. We’ve seen it before with horses like Arazi,Celtic Swing even Johannesburg all expectational 2yr olds who in all there races put up outstanding performances Yet 7 months down the line they didn’t make as much improvement so there dominance was no longer there.
For anyone to say that Frankel doesn’t need to make any improvement to win the guineas 7 months away does not imo know much about racing ( It like Andy Murray winning at queens and they saying well he doesn’t need to improve to win Wimbledon)Of course Frankel needs to keep improving to win the guineas, you have to look at the recent records of fav in the guineas to know that.
You just know this is going to end up with a shock result then the excuses will come thick and fast. Didn’t Raven Pass win this 1st 3 races as impressive as Frankel but could only finish 3rd in this race??
One thing for sure is there will be a proper gallop on sat AOB will ensure that so there will be no hiding place if Frankel can win off a fast pace then he will be the champion 2yr,i rather suspect he wont .
Who forced Richard Hughes to go forward?? apart from snow mountain who was the pacemaker all the other ballydoyle horse ran on merit the only horse who kept tabs on as was the bulger horse, and what was wrong with sm jockey letting zoffany up the rails?
After the rock and holy roman emperor were both well beaten in the coventry,it wasnt a surprise that zoffany came out and won here.He looks a horse of real class and should have no problem training on next yr.What was most impressive was that he was stepping back in trip and showed a great turn of foot to win
What is richard hannon trying to get at by saying his hear sank when he saw where o’briens other 2 runners were drawn, and by saying he hopes it’s a clean race.I think he’s a bit out of order and for that would be happy to see his horse beat
I certainly wouldn’t be confident about collecting on workforce. How many times have horses won a group 1 by wide margins only to fall short next time??from xarr in the dewhurst hawk wing at newbury to royal anthem and bosra sham. There was something just not right about the derby result it was to funny a race to be taken at face value. At York wf was beaten an easy 3 lengths by cb and anyone who has ridden horse will know that the bit slipping doesn’t stop a horse going forward or faster and I can’t believe that wf improved 20/30 pounds from York if he did he wouldn’t have gone off at 8/1 the stoute yard and all I’d Newmarket would of been backing this one.He was beaten easily by cb at York and considering how bad the ballydoyle horses were needing that 1st run I expect it to be cb coming out on top.
It def was not magnier the only one from the coolmore team who was there was derek smiths son
I think you will find that adien said if jan goes to Epsom he will need a run which is why he nominated the Irish guineas he said he can go France without a run. considering jan got injured early in march it made sense for connections not to big up his derby chances incase he never made it there
Got to be the fav for me here iv liked him since he won his maiden where he beat Midas touch who was getting 7pounds from him.in the race in France he made all and quickened clear very nicely indeed.if injury hadn’t kept if of the track I find it hard to believe he couldn’t of won any off the derby trials we have seen. I can’t have workforce here evem allowing for the mouth piece slipping he doesn’t look quick enough for me the biggest and only danger is frankies mount.I don’t see anything else improving the10/12 pounds that according to the racing post is needed jan vermeer only needs to prove 3pounds says the post
