Really looking forward to seeing Limato run again, assume the new 3 year old sprint at Ascot will be the target.
I also have a RUK online subscription and the service has been dreadful last few weeks. New marketing emails very confusing regarding new site. Tried registering today and new site worse than before and gave up and cancelled my subscription.
I also thought had he been "got at" when watching the race. From an earlier stage it did not look good. A watching brief for now.
I have amassed a sizeable collection to date. Depends on what sort of book/stories you enjoy reading. I really liked The Master of Manton and the Druids Lodge Confederacy by Paul Mathieu.
A Licence to Print Money is also a good read, but a little dated now. Been re-reading it this week, brings back some good memories of racing during the period. Not so many characters on course now (still a few though).
On my last trip to Fontwell at least two of the Private Boxs where full of In-Running punters. Whether you call these professional punters is another matter, and for those bet in running from home using ATR/RUK stop feeding these sharks.
Not so much phone advice, but the Zoombet app is much better than the official app in my opinion.
I tend to concentrate on the good quality handicaps, and races run at my local courses where I know the conditions, which trainers do well at the course etc. With the flat there is so much racing and so much form to analyse. For me it’s about looking for an edge or looking from a different angle. Also try and keep a list of horses that catch eye and is easy to miss future winners given volume of racing.
For the flat I liked to look at the shape of race, try and predict who will lead, will it suit hold up horses or those held up for a turn off foot. Will they go a good gallop.
Great racing, but shambolic planning and traffic management!
I came up from the A339, and like others have said, the last few miles took nearly an hour. Luckily I made the decision to dump the car down a side street and walked the last mile to the course. I also made the decision to leave before the Novice Chase.
Such a good card, and it could have been a real success, but lack of planning by the course has probably scuppered a lot of the good work.
Sprinter Sacre is some machine!
Glad I stayed at home now! I would like to given an orange sticker to the appalling food they provide to paying customers at Ascot.
How do you think these changes will impact upon your betting. I have been reviewing some jumps meetings from last year and these rule changes are going to have a big impact on the shape or races, how jockey’s ride and the tactics employed.
As a punter the only logical thing seems to be wait a few months to see what impact this has on results and the way in which I bet. One initial thought is that I might look to concentrate more on laying horses. Would be interesting to see if betting turnover falls further over the coming months as people sit back and analyse the impact of these changes.
Another sad day. Top trainer and no qualms in backing a horse from his yard. Trained one of my favorites in Rakti.
Planning on going both days. Nice little course. Top tip is to go watch a chase from the middle of the course as you can stand opposite a couple of the fences and really get close to the action.
I suspect this was a Patrick Veitch gamble. Although I could be wide of the mark. Like others have said before, connections have done well to get this horse off this rating and to find a suitable race.
The Masters of Manton is a very good read, and well researched book.
Got the same Email, maybe market forces have dictated.
Booked in for Wednesday as well.

What are management thinking, £37 entry for the Gordon enclousre.
I use to go every year but prices have risen so much in recent years, this has to be the worst value meeting going
I went to Sandown last Friday and Saturday and total cost was £27.50 and there is no way that the Goodwood card is any better then those two days.
Annoyingly enough Goodwood is my local course but it looks like I won’t be attending any meeting in the near future due to costs.
