Racing Post has announced the sad passing of flat legend Michael Jarvis. This with Ginger’s sad passing yesterday has made this a really sad week for racing.
RIP.
September 20, 2011 at 15:55 #371458Very sad news.
I never met him personally, but have a number of friends who did. Unanimously regarded as a true gent. He will be sadly missed.
R.I.P. and best wishes to his family.September 20, 2011 at 16:05 #371462

There is no words to describe the unjustified loss of two racing greats back to back, why is god punishing us?
This is horrific
September 20, 2011 at 16:18 #371466Another sad day. Top notch trainer. R.I.P.
September 20, 2011 at 17:54 #371484Another sad day. Top trainer and no qualms in backing a horse from his yard. Trained one of my favorites in Rakti.
September 20, 2011 at 19:29 #371505Mr. Jarvis was one of my favourite trainers, a man who showed great skill and patience with his horses. A real gentleman on and off the track.
Sympathies to his family and friendsSeptember 20, 2011 at 21:41 #371516R.I.P. M Jarvis
