Capodano for me 25’s e/w, Willie made some positive comments about him prior to Cheltenham.
Obviously another few to do on the day..Small E/W on last years 1st two, 25s and 50s
Im sticking to Go Go, Family has won the Aintree Fox Hunters and had a placed runner here before.
Double dipped now.. thanks to Tony Martin yesterday. Probably fall at the first.
Good luck to all.I think the rain has done for Brave Mans Game..
Looked tackey today..
Would not be a surprise to see him pulled in the morning.Cough ” Chris’s dream ” cough
Are you suggesting when the Hunter Chase starts, the Gold cup will still be running..
I was on course and just had a sudden impulse bet to win, what a great ride, Id given up on him coming down the hill..Just watched the race again..amazing, some jumps were iffy..
Being on the rails never noticed him come through, until he was a length clear..and folks were saying come on Jonny..
Happy days..20 Years since Xenophon..that was my impulse reason..
March 15, 2023 at 19:30 in reply to: Cheltenham Trial Races that do not provide festival Winners #1639641Another year and no winner..
Challow and Katuo Star prep races.@ Final Furlong 91..
The drinmore would be one
When was the last time a winner of it won at the festival?
Let hope your right with this..

Sorry, I should have said in ” graded novice” race to avoid confusion with those going handicapping.
But yea, Chezza I agree..placed in the Irish National..strange one this.
Othersthat I see with a quick glimpse..
Gaelic Warrior:
Il Etait Temps:Honeysuckle
Epatante
Marie’s Rock
Queens Brook”Game of opinions so no issue there – if everyone agreed with Chezza all the time everything Chezza ever wanted to back would be 1.01!
Things have got to go his way and very testing ground might test his stamina, but if it was round Larkhill he’d murder the lot of them and at 16/1 NRNB Chezza will gladly take a chance.”
Opinions mater..and your’s are well respected.Glad to see Go Go has drifted to 25/1, Ive had my bet now..if goes longer on the day, Ill go again.
I just see him taking it up on the second circuit, then hanging on for ..at least a place.
”I do fear Facile Vega but as a clock fan, I can’t ignore the time that Il Etait Temps posted at the DRF.
There’s also some direct-ish comparisons to Gaelic Warrior and to State Man as they both raced on the same day over the same distance with the same weight.
State Man and Il Etait Temps both put their races to bed without too much whip (maybe 3 strikes) which makes Il Etait Temps performance a bit better as the time and distance over his competition was better.
Stateman is now rated 167.
Il Etait Temps posted a time 3 seconds faster than State Man and 5 seconds faster than Gaelic Warrior.
Suppose the fly in the ointment with my times argument is that Facile Vega did beat Il Etait Temps in the race before this latest one. However, that race was on soft ground and the time on the day was virtually the same as Winter Fog’s win (carrying 11lb less). We also know from last year’s bumper that Facile Vega acts well on softer ground. In that race Facile Vega was able to dictate up front without any pressure. Something he won’t get in this race (although we are told a change in tactics is in the offing)
Il Etait Temps has perhaps taken a leap forwards that Vega hasn’t, especially on better ground and is definitely the value pick if it drys up. Danny isn’t shy in beating Townend if he’s got a good horse.
Perhaps Il Etait Temps needs a strong gallop to run in behind, he’ll 100% get that in the supreme.
Also seems a bit of a stretch to be able to turn that last performance around for Facile Vega. Positive vibes are coming from the camp though.”
Cracking post, thanks for the info..

Ferns Lock entered at Gowran Park tomorrow….
Quoting myself..Would think the PTP novice chase at Stratford in May would be on the radar for this one.
I cant be with Chezza’s enthusiasm for Famous Clermont, struggled with jumping last April at Cheltenham. Was pulled up behind Go Go Geronimo that time.
I know they are both doing well in PTP’s, one up North and the other down south.
Definitely looking forward to this more than many other races during the week..Then see whats left standing for Hunter Chase May 4th night at Cheltenham.
Ferns Lock entered at Gowran Park tomorrow.
In in..

Im hopeful that hes young enough to improve a bit, but as above the price is too short to take that chance.
On the day, I suspect it will be bigger.Nothing but sleepless nights await, Landafar.
Famous Clermont is entered at Buckfastleigh this coming Sunday – if he runs, I doubt if he’ll come off the bit, but I also doubt if he’ll be much better than 1/3.
Well I see my dark fancy has been added to the Anti Post lists at 16/1..
Very disappointed, I was looking for 40’s or more.Go Go Geronimo..
Thought he ran very well at last years Hunter Chase night.- AuthorPosts
