I am more than well impressed with this system.  I’d like to monitor the results with a couple of staking plans.  Any chance of a big favour?

From now on could you put the results in time sequence and show where the losers (and lets hope there’s not too many of them!) occur.

    7/4  L  2/1  5/4  etc.

    Would be much appreciated.

John, couldn’t agree more with you.  I started this last summer & August & September gave some good profits.  If you look back on my other thread you’ll see what I mean.  That may well ahve had something to do with the weather and the fact that the flat was in full swing.

I’m just finishing a spread sheet that will do all sorts of things for me, then I can put all of 2002 in to see if there is a seansonal pattern of any sort.

To bring things up tp date….

    Mon (20)   7/2<br>Tue (21)    L   3/1<br>Wed (22)   L  L<br>Thur (23)   11/8  L   L  4/11 <br>Fri   (24)    9/2  L  2/1<br>Sat  (25)    27/10  L   L   L   L

    <br>Stakes 61  Returns  LS 50.34  RD’s  32.18<br>"+1 to winner"   Stakes   223    Returns   144.65

As Mr E says..keep plugging away.   It’s a good job that this can be done retrospectively instead of having to pick them or else the losing run really would drive you to suicide.  But as Pocket Rocket says, the sun’s always shining behind the clouds.

I was only putting a few bob on this system until sometime in October when things started to go downhill.

Anyway to bring things upto date.

    Sun (12)   L<br>Mon (13)   L   L   L<br>Tue (14)  L   L   1/3<br>Wed (15) L   L   3/1   4/11<br>Thu (16)   L   L   1/3<br>Fri (17)   L   L   L<br>Sat (18)   L   1/2   L   4/1   L   L   L<br>Sun (19)  L

    Stakes 44  Returns 25.91 for LS  & 13.58 for RD’s

If you had the b***s to go "+1 ’til a win"  then you would have staked 188 for a return of 87.74

Not the time to be using this system!!

Up to yesterday, Saturday we have one race each Monday to Friday all losers plus three losers Saturday!

Eight on the trot (were the favourites even trotting?) – but it will get better.

Apart from level stakes and rolling doubles I’ve now included "+ 1 point until a win, then back to one".  Does this have a proper name and if so what please?  This is the sort of staking plan that can scare you s**tless if the losing run is a long one.  It maybe that with short prices this does not work so well.  Anyway i’ve played around with my spread sheet and have all three on it, so now I can go back over last year and see what would have happened.

Back to January  to date Stakes 19  Returns LS 11.38 & RD 8.13<br>On "+1"  Stakes 63  Returns  32.88

    Post again next weekend.

To bring the month to a close…

    Thur 19     8/11<br>Fri 20         L…..9/4…..L<br>Sat 21        L…..9/4…..L…..1/1…..L<br>Sun 22       L<br>Thur 26      L…..L…..L…..15/8…..L…..L…..6/5…..L<br>                   6/4…..L…..L…..L<br>Fri 27         2/1…..1/1…..2/1…..L…..6/5<br>Sat 28        L…..L…..L…..7/2…..4/7…..8/11…..L<br>Sun 29        11/10…..11/10<br>Mon 30       L<br>Tue 31        L…..L…..4/5

    Total for month  35 from 98  (SR 35.8%)<br>Stakes 98  Returns 91.24    ROI – 6.89%

Since I started in August the results for the year are:

    223 from 583  (38.25%)<br>Stakes 583  Returns 565.84  (ROI – 2.94%)

I’m going to start a brand new thread for 2003.

I’ve made note of Mr E’s comments particularly about rolling doubles and have just produced a spread sheet that will calculste them automatically as the month goes on so I can post that as well.   When I’ve got chance I’ll go back over the whole of 2002, to see how that panned out.  Was it just a coincidence that the first 2 months showed a reasonable ROI on level stakes?

    Catch up time..

Adjustment to last post  missed Sundays Irish results which were

    8/11…..L

    <br>Carrying on….

    Tuesday   L…..L…..L<br>Wednesday  L…..L<br>Thursday   L…..7/4…..L…..5/4<br>Friday    2/11…..L…..9/4

    I reckon that’s 15 from 39  Stakes 39  returns at LS 39.61

With Mr E’s Rolling Doubles (Merds)  then the total would be 39.83

What I’m going to do is to roll it along from last race to first next day.  If there’s an Irish race at same time as mainland then the rule will be alphabetical.

    Lets see what happens

    Mr E

See exactly where you’re coming from….

I can see exactly how you made it 27.74

    Fridays results were  L…L…L…

    Saturday 11/8…L…L…L…L…L

    Monday  4/9….11/2 (lowest number!)

Will calculate the LS later and also the "Merds" – (Mr E’s rolling doubles)

    Mr E

Thanks for your response, I’ll study it at length.  I was under the impression that you were creating rolling doubles, not by betting them as doubles, but puttings the winnings of race1 on race 2 etc.

For the month of December here are the results in sequence from Sunday through to Thursday.

    Sun     L…..5/4     <br>Mon     L…..L…..2/1<br>Tue      L…..6/4<br>Wed    4/5…..3/1…..7/4<br>Thur    5/6…..L…..L…..L

    That’s 7 from 14  at level stakes –  Stakes 14  returns 18.03

Will catch up with you later.

    Dear Mr E

    Thank you for your observations.

Staking plans are great but it won’t be much assistance to me now, and I’ll explain why, but I will be posting results in sequence starting from November 1st.

I’m not able to be "in running" due to my present job.  This all started as a bit of amusement.  In July I was given 10 weeks notice of redundancy and put on "gardening leave" – not able to contact any of my customers and keep a low profile at home.  I still had my company car and phone, but it soon becomes tedious.  I was spending a lot of time on the phone job hunting, so the last thing I wanted to do was spend time on line, looking at racecards and stopping potential employers phoning up.  I used to go down to Uncle Bills and have a good read of the Racing Post and soak (choke?) up the atmosphere, and this little system just grew out of that.  Both August and September it actually showed me a profit on level stakes, probably more by luck than judgement   Plenty of bets!

My current job allows me to have an hours lunch and a good surf, but online betting is out.  What I thought I would do over the next few weeks is go back through the year for all the results; I can put them in order and also see if there is any pattern that would allow me to be more selective, which would be a different ball game.

Anyway, I’ll post Novembers results in sequence and report on the years results in the not too distant future.

    Regards

    Ian C
