Ronaldo Des Mottes travelled well for a long way in Kingwell and tired towards the finish so looks nailed on for a place in this.

I backed Sire de Grugy at Kempton and was impressed with the way he won and looks a horse to keep on the right side of ( looks as though he will make a nice big chaser in future )

Those two against the field for me at this stage.

Surely the value has to lie with

    Kauto Star

    .

Anyone else think he will benefit from having Ruby back on board? I certainly do. AP is the undisputed champion but for me his galvanising style doesn’t suit all horses, Kauto being one of them.In my opinion.

    Backed

    Neptune Collonges

E/W two years ago but can’t see anything at a big price to run into the frame? Any ideas? Maybe if

    Tidal

    Bay

is on a ‘going’ day he could finish strongly for a place!?

Agree with the earlier posts, A right old fashioned head scratcher of a race.

I’ve backed Oscar Whisky A.P at 16’s but on the day I think i’ll be backing Peddlers Cross…Fate may be at his hooves.

K.K has to be over-priced at 25’s though!

Anyone taken by Zarkandar’s performance in the Adonis at Kempton on Saturday? Hard not to be impressed in my opinion.Always a race that throws up a good horse too!

Doesn’t look a great renewal of the race on paper to me. Having said that it still fascinates me.Backed both C.O.D and Merigo when winning this and see it as a good National trial.

Giles Cross looks to have a great chance based on his last run.Denis O’Regan is a good booking, one of my favs over extreme distances.

Given that most/all English challengers should be held by Cue Card on all known form, I’m siding with

    Zaidpour

. Flattered to deceive yet I know but worth risking him showing his true capabilties come Cheltenham.

I think the best bet for this race is a horse which almost certainly won’t run in the National – I’moncloudnine.

    12s with Coral’s is great e/w material.

Backed him at Ffos Las last time out.Agreed a good E/W bet but can’t quite see him getting his nose in front.

West End Rocker has been allotted 10st 5lbs.My other fancy Merigo has 10st 1lbs.Don’t Push It up 4lbs to 11st 10lbs which is by no means insurmountable compared to past winners rises.

    My list comprises of the following at present ;

    Niche Market

    – Brave little horse who will run his heart out,McCoy last year maybe Nicholls this year?

    Merigo

    – Proven stayer, bold jumper and likely to have Timmy Murphy on board, one of the best jocks over extreme distances

    West End Rocker

    – Versatile ground-wise,thorough stayer, potential low weight and the fact Alan King runs him speaks volumes

    Calgary Bay

    – Touch of class needed of a National winner, good recent form franked, lovely big horse who could take to the fences
