Kauto Star is most likely winner, however
ED has claims on reversing GC form with KS
MWDS is a bit of an unknown quantity at this trip, and you cannot rule him out as he could find it to his liking. The two above have race fitness on their side though, but if anyone can, A King can
Offshore Account is an interesting outsider , looks progressive sort, but improvement needed
Turpin Green has ability, but needs to improve a fair bit and is unreliable
Ollie is similar to Turpin Green
Beef is Beef and probably not the horse he was
All in all an interesting race, KS could muller em and there again if he’s not in tip top form he could get beat
Now we more or less know what is running and FWIW
5-4 or above for KS to be of any interest as a back for my barn
Results
1½L, Monet’s Garden[11/10F] 10-10 t
t at side of weight carried = tongue strap moehat
I surprised the majority are not 4/5 – 8/11 ish Aragorn tbh
Interesting innit
I think it’s interesting the majority of books are 10/11, Evens on KS
Entrance fees should be in line with racing thats taking place on that day
Summat like, If your going to watch a card full of Class 5 races worth on average 2 or 3k you pay £2 or £3 and if your going to Asccot with an average of 25k you pay £25
Just noticed Simon Rowlands is wading into Kauto Star
gotta finish second now

IT’s all relative to what you are racing against is it not? I agreed he looked a better horse in those two races, but the truth is he wasn’t.
It is – I’m not sure how you work out GC was a better performance than Betfair Chase or Tingle Creek though, however, performances and race interpretation are subjective, so we’ll have to agree to disagree on that one.
I also disagree with the thinking that KS ran to near his best in Old Roan Chase
KG was a worse performance than GC for both Kauto Star and Exotic Dancer as neither jumped anywhere near as good as they did at Cheltenham
Racing Demon would probably have been beaten double that in GC by both horses imo
I accept that. His later performances were not as eye catching or as authoritive as they were in those two, but I reckon he’s still the one they all have to beat on saturday.
Totally agree m8 and hopefully that will help FoF in understanding what i meant

If the horse that won 2006 Betfair Chase, Tingle Creek turns up, i’ll do my dosh, but imo that horse has not been seen the last 4 starts
FoF
Unless race cuts up badly. EW goes pink on Saturday at current odds
I wouldn’t back KS at his current price if i was given a free bet .

post read and notedFitzy
It’s part and parcel of Cheltenham and has been like it for years,
god help NH racing , deserve everything they get with that kind of attitudeDone, finito, adios peeps

Not for me to tell you where to post, but i’d post that on thread Tuffers , i’m sure the guys would welcome your and other peoples input, plus it keeps peoples thoughts on the subject on one thread
I just thought thread was worth bringing to the attention of others
Just a thought,
If this was the flat and a similar thing was happening on say a bend or a particular surface there would probably be uproar and trainers, jockeys and experts would be expressing concerns as to safety
I personally see no difference here, the rate of casualties (fatal or otherwise) looks high and something needs doing to reduce these, be it AP’s suggestion or otherwise
Enjoyed reading peoples thoughts on this issue, but thats it from me, my rant is over.
The problem is the racing industry’s and not mine
SL
You don’t need to be a jockey or trainer or indeed an expert to notice that 2 from home around Cheltenham is where most horses will come a cropper or the part of the track that will in all probability cost a horse the race
If people want this part of the track to remain the same, then be ready for the Animal rights peoples campaign against Cheltenham and NH racing
The stats will probabably tell them all they need to know and racing doing nothing to reduce these statistics will play right into their hands
