What a stupid place that H sign was in when Geraghty went the wrong way as well. It was in a completely different direction (sharp right) from what the jockeys were riding. It was like having a roadsign after the junction rather than before. Would have made more sense to have a big C denoting the chase course on the inside rail imo.

eddie case, 16/1 into 10/1 , your wrong, who cares, guesser.

Sean Boyce highlighted it at the time on ATR and it’s not the first time is it?

    "Come Racing get the value"

Kazbow returned 4/6 at Kempton, 7/4 freely available on Betfair at the off.

Acrosstheuniverse shamefully reduced from 16/1 to 10/1 at Lingfield when it was clear he wasn’t going to run after bursting out of the stalls.

The "thieves" should be thrown off the track.

Meanwhile the BHA who are supposed to be running our sport just stand around and do nothing.

Since when has handball been cheating? On that basis everyone who commits a foul is cheating, what about all the fouling and cheating that goes on when there’s a corner that goes unpunished?
As said previously it was an instinctive decision to handle the ball not pre-meditated like Anelkas dive was.
How many goals have been scored from free kicks or corners incorrectly given, are you going to have a video replay for them? I’m afraid it’s a fact of life that similar to players, officials will make mistakes. I’m amazed how officials can make head nor tail of the ludicrous offside rule and get it right so often.
Even if a goal line official had been in action it’s quite likely the handball would have been given but so may have the penalty for the dive.
In any case football now is a very corrupt sport completely dominated by money so who cares.

The quality of the players is so poor. They need an experienced manager, any youngish one such as Levein will be off after a couple of years for a club job if doing reasonably well.
What’s Tommy Doc doing these days?

The only surprising thing about this news is that it has taken so long for the recommendation that the Derby should be ditched from the ‘ crown jewels ‘ and I have never understood why a sport such as horse racing should have two events in it.

Unlike Rugby Union? Maybe it would be understandable to have all Wales matches in the six nations on the list if Gareth , JPR, Barry John & Co were still playing, but currently?
And the Rugby Union World Cup in it’s entirety?

Incidentally, does anyone know why the BBC have not set up a digital sports channel? Or possibly even two or three?

You’ve got to be having a laugh surely Andrew? What would they put on them? Bowls? Snooker? World Paralympics Championships?

Another questionable disqualification in the 8.50 at Wolves last night when Wicked Daze was disqualified for "interference" to Clear Reef.
I would imagine the result would have remained unchanged about 87 times out of a 100 which would have mirrored the betting on Betfair.
Although not as bad as the Plumpton fiasco there was surely too much doubt to change the result and it must be wrong that any stewards is purely dependent on which stewards are on duty on that day or which track it is at.
A central panel is much needed for stewards enquiries to get some consistency into the process.

To answer Paul’s initial question, the Charlie Hall was originally at 2.50 but got moved to 2.55 at the request of CH4.

Sounds like the tail wagging the dog especially since they get paid a few million to show racing.
Today the 1.30 at Lingfield barely avoided clashing with 1.20 at Cheltenham while the 2.00 would have been completely unseen by anyone watching the 3mile 3furlong at Cheltenham whereas if it had been delayed till 2.05 would have been seen by the nation.

An interesting side issue which I didn’t know previously is that the BBC is understood to have only paid less than 3 million a year for it’s new 2010-12 Derby, Grand National and Royal Ascot contract compared with nearer 10 million previously, quite a big drop, are they getting racing on the cheap?
As Dave Yates points out in todays Mirror, where have the suits from the BHA been while all this beens going on? The BHA kept such a low profile during the whole episode, you could have been forgiven for forgetting they are supposed to be running racing.

Who gives a monkeys about the award anymore? It did have some merit many years ago when sport was covered on only two channels but those days are long gone and it’s far from compulsory viewing these days particularly with the way the BBC have treated racing, how much airtime does racing get on the programme itself, was it 30secs?
Go **** yourself Auntie, the licence fee is money under false pretences.

Think both channels leave a fair bit to desire, in fact if someone subscribed to no channels on satellite and just received the free ones they would receive neither ATR or RUK, it is a myth no subscription is required for ATR.

As for Saturdays coverage of the Breeders Cup I watched bits and pieces on both but all the actual races on RUK as the picture quality was superior, Chapman on ATR would have been a definite turn off from watching it on ATR all night and Big Mac appeared on RUK as well to tell everyone Conduit & Zenyetta had no chance.

Any merit in the idea though, chaps?

The Derby run at 5.45 instead of that Bradley benefit(6f sprint)? The QEII at 4.55? The Sussex or the Juddmonte at 6PM after an eight race build up?

Or for the jumps men, the National or the Gold Cup at 5?

I ought to have polled this one.

Don’t like the sound of that at all, I peak much earlier in the day than 5.30 or 6. Wouldn’t like to see the National any later, would get fed up waiting. Think the big races work quite well in the middle of a card with a bit of winding down after them.
Agree with too many big races have gone to a Saturday though and would still like to see The Derby on the first Wednesday in June.

Thought it was abysmal coverage and they’re clearly not interested in what viewers want, surprising the RUK presenters don’t make the director see the light over this issue, if it wasn’t for the commentator saying where on the track the horses were you’d have no idea from these pictures, one things for sure no commentator would be relying on them for his commentary.
Some weeks ago when complaints were made about close ups in a finish on RUK some presenters on the channel suggested it had nothing to do with them and it was a Racetech matter, this is not the case here so lets see some action RUK presenters, after all we pay some of your wages.

On a separate issue have you noticed that during the big races of the day on C4 they put the latest football scores along the bottom of the screen, not before or after the race but always during it, quite bizarre and I find a bit of an unnecessary distraction, can you imagine the latest racing results going along the bottom of the screen during a televised football match?

Weren’t they penalised one year recently for not even putting up all the meagre prize money they were given?
On a separate issue I wish they’d chop them bloody hedges down that obliterates the view of the horses jumping the fences.

Alan, did you hear Matt Chapman’s comments after those events at Towcester? He felt that spectators had been denied the excitement of the remount by the new rules!? The fact that the jocks were on the floor and the horses were "galloping" away seemed to have escaped his notice.

    Colin

Even the missus said that when I called her in to see the replay, the guy just loves to hear his own voice even though only diarrhoea emits from the orifice on his head

Anyone know why Goodwood have cones along the entrance to one of the bends coming into straight during races?
