I fancy Rolling Aces and Roberto Goldback for this. RA looks to be on a fair mark and with a lot of the horses he has beat running very well, I think there is improvement in him yet. RG’s last two races were dire but they were on ground he hates and as a result his mark has gone down such that he’ll run with 11 – 5 if What a Friend stays in, and at 14’s he’s worth an each way punt.
Has anyone heard anything about Hadrian’s Approach? Fancy him to perhaps reverse the form with Dynaste if he lines up.
Agreed Boz, Darlan really does stand out to me and I can see him being much shorter on the day, especially considering competition looks a little weak from a quick scan.
Does anyone know if he is definitely an intended runner?
Thanks guys, will certainly look into it.

Moonstone MagicGutted about Sunnyhillboy, but had him each way at least. Well done GT
Good, good to soft in places according to Racing Post website, is that really enough to warrant backing Giles Cross?
Looks like there’s been no rain, good write up GT. My two main bets are on Organisedconfusion and Sunnyhillboy, good luck!
Has anyone seen the Betfair ‘banker’ promotion? Put a treble on and if Oscar Whisky is the only horse to lose then you get your money back. Good deal I think.
Exceptional write up imo, very well researched. Any chance of a summary though?
Can also use the Sports Bet Calculator app if you have an iphone, basically a pocket bet calculator
Suspect Thousand Stars needs further to be seen at his best, no doubt he is a very good 2 miler, but he looked to be staying on through the last 200 yards. Maybe a crack at the World Hurdle?
Wow. Really impressed. Had SS in a double with Finians Rainbow and that was one of the best days racing I’ve had, especially since my dad picked the Welsh National winner.
SS looks like he could be a future champion, went short, went long, but the crucial thing for me was the way he took lengths out of PC at almost every fence. Was doing handstands at the end. That’s the Arkle winner for me, I know he may not be everyone’s taste but I can’t see anything else impressing me as much
Well according to Lawrence whoever the hell he is Peddlers’ Corss 2nd in the Champion Hurdle is the speed horse.
We’ll see how fast he is when Barry throws caution to the wind and says let’s go buddy.
I reckon the nearest Peddler’s Cross will get to him is when they walk into the winners enclosure.
I make no excuse for Sprinter Sacre if he doesn’t win this he won’t win the Arkle and the same goes for Peddler’s Cross.
On reflection while it may have been better had all 6 turned up I can’t see this being a tactical affair with anyone having trouble holding up their mounts. Everything should fall into place automatically.
There’s so much confidence behind Sprinter Sacre I doubt if Barry will do anything other than completely ignore what the other two are doing and just let his mount do his own thing and treat them with total contempt.
Something will give and this will be over turning for home.
Peddler’s Cross will no doubt be coming from behind as it would be possible suicide to try and match Sprinter Sacre fence to fence.
He’s most likely to try and move alongside and take over before or after the first fence in the straight. Within strides I reckon the writing will be on the wall and either Peddler’s Cross will come there pulling a train or he will come under immediate pressure and Sprinter Sacre will simply run away from him.
One of these horses is going to prove to be the best by quite some way IMO and that horse I think will be Sprinter Sacre
May the best horse win.
No ambiguity there then!
Trying to prove a point to certain people?
Sprinter Sacre for me as well, it’s no secret how highly both Henderson and Geraghty rate this horse, and from such a strong stable, it’s a great indicator of how good SS is. Thought he was the best jumper of fences out of the Arkle principles as well.
These three are head and shoulders above the rest on form. If any other horse wins, Long Run will have to jump poorly, Kauto Star not recover from last time, and Master Minded not stay. I can see one or two of those things happening, unlikely for all three.
They’re the first 3 in the betting (best prices, RP table), and effectively a 1/3 shot, so it’s hardly a bold shout.
Personally, I would favour both Captain Chris and Somersby to finish ahead of Kauto and Master Minded.Serious question reet…what exactly is the attraction with Sommersby? Seems beloved of many media darlings…had you down as a hard nosed realist…honestly what does anyone see in that beast?
Looks a huge fraud to me.Don’t know how a horse can be a fraud
Definitely see him as more than a bit over rated, and surely there’s as much of a question mark over him staying as with Master Minded?
If Long Run jumps well he’ll probably win. King George and Gold Cup wins better than Kauto’s last time out win. But will Long Run jump well?
Saw a feature Henderson did with ATR and when the interviewer mentioned Long Run’s jumping, he got quite defensive, reading a little into it, maybe he knows it’s still a little chink in Long Run’s armour.
However well he jumped in the Betfair, he still made a mistake or two, and if Kauto is on form in the King George, he might take advantage.
