whatever happened to Deja Vu dprp?
A talented horse that looked set to be better over fences than he was over hurdles (won 3). He ran a blinder to finish 2nd at Haydock to subsequent festival winner Dun Doire. However he picked up an injury in the race and was never really the same after that.
He was sold to go point to pointing in the North. Many, many thanks to whoever it was that nominated us in the Owner category. Nice to even be mentioned in the same list as the others (well, maybe with one exception!!).
Happy New Year to all & keep up the good work on an excellent forum…I will try to contribute more often & thus keep one of my 2009 resolutions!
42 entries, max field 12 but race will probably divide.
Chamerion ballot mark of 29(out of 30) so I’d say she will defintely get a run.
Thanks Rob….have enjoyed reading about our horses on your blog. Scotland is actually a very happy hunting ground for us.
Garde Champetre is not straight forward & can maybe idle a bit in front & perhaps JT (who would know the horse well) wanted it to get there too soon. In the event it got there & stayed there but only after Nina Carberry had given him 4 or 5 cracks on the shoulder going to the last.
I am not saying that the above is fact but it does provide another reading of the ride.
I was alerted to the fact that we had a nomination here & I must admit that I was slightly embarrassed that we were on the list…especially in such exalted company!!
I then pondered posting something to that effect but didn’t want to appear as if canvassing for votes (which we will need by the looks of things!!!).
However, now that a mini debate on the merits of the list has been started maybe I can post a few words- not of justification but rather of clarification!
David Parry Racing Partnerships (DPRP) runs jump racing syndicates/partnerships in 12 horses all in training with Ferdy Murphy.
Each syndicate is a separate & distinct entity but all run under the DPRP prefix, eg Aces Four runs for The DPRP Aces Partnership & Nine De Sivola runs for The DPRP Sivola Partnership.
Typically, a syndicate has 12 partners.
David Parry Racing’s role is to manage & co-ordinate each partnership.
We operate on the (admittedly cheesy) tagline of "Extraordinary horses for ordinary people" – attempting to compete at the highest level possible given our realistic cost basis.
Horse that we manage: Aces Four, Nine De Sivola, Lucky Nellerie,Clemax, Delray Beach, Rich Lord, Kalmo Bay, Pakineo Des Pictons, Anglican, Pistol Basc, Luzenie and Divers.
As I say, I hope that people do not mind me posting this & it is genuinely meant as a point of clarification for those thinking.. "who the hell are DPRP?!"
Finally, I would like to thank whoever it was that nominated us as it is nice to know that our efforts are appreciated.
Can’t even login this morning as it says my details are incorrect which they aren’t as saved in password manager and logged in with them yesterday.
The site then locked my account and wouldn’t take the whole of my email address to send me the password so emailed them separately.
So far my experience is they have really cocked up and if I don’t get a satisfactory response I will stop using it henceforth.
Also the cards only appear to be available for today’s meetings not future.
ditto

"KAUTO STAR crashing out at the final fence in Saturday’sBetfair Chase hit no fewer than 52,072 lists in the Racing Post/Tote Ten to Follow competition, as the season’s most popular horse failed to get punters off to the start they’d hoped for.
Stablemate Master Minded is the second most popular choice in the competition – for which first prize was on Monday confirmed as £444,500 – as 47,036 selections expect the five-year-old to retain his Champion Chase crown, while last year’s Arkle hero Tidal Bay features on 28,788 lists.
Barrington Davis from Croydon and bloodstock agent David Minton jointly head the early leaderboard, with no fewer than seven of their ten selections – they have exactly the same horses – already off the mark.

Depends how slick/stressed a traveller you are I guess!
Its about 30 mins journey time to G du N from airport and about 40 mins to Enghien from there. Trains are frequent so its certainly possible.
Course is right next to a Station…." Champs Enghien" or similar. It is on the overground line from Gare Du Nord.

Probably trying to report from a desk in Wapping rather from on the course!

Of course he knows…the chat with the stewards after the race made him fully aware!
Having finished 6th, not too disturbed by it but Keith a bit fed up.Despite the going report still reading ‘firm, good to firm in places’, there are 195 entries for the seven race card next Wednesday.
What is interesting/telling is the lack of entries from those trainers known to be in the delegation walking the track with the decision makers on Weds.
The race is worth 4.5m Forints, which equates to £14,366.04pp, according to one currency conversion site.
That’s not right. Pretty sure race is worth about £50K to the winner.
