Ian, has quite a few spare ones, dear shepherd.
I agree with your post, Triptych.
It was after the Grand National one year when the TV camera panned down the and I could see at least two lifeless bodies of horses on the course and decided then to stop watching NH racing.
I am aware there are fatalities on the flat and it sickens me whenever it happens. One minute a superb flowing gallop, the next a hobbling cripple with, in most cases, a very short life expectancy.
Horses are born to either work or be ridden they are such kind, beautiful and easily-trained animals that they deserve to live a full life and pass peacefully.
Sorry about the sentimentality but I really do love horses and being around them.
As I fell out of love with NH racing sometime ago I have not seen much of the racing but I’d be interested in to know how the average jump fan felt the meeting went. the weather on the second day seemed dire, lots of favourites winning, Ms. Blackmore doing the biz and Mullins just about owning the final a day.
Could the meeting be judged a success, did you all make a profit, will it ever go back to a three-day meeting?
Nicky is nearly in the same class as our Prime Minister……….for being a liar.
I think, perhaps, you should have put your last sentence at the beginning of your post. It’s an image I’m going to have difficulty in forgetting.
Can anyone see an acceptable way out of this?
If what is being reported is true ( propaganda is everywhere) Putin is provoking western powers into an all out war, which from experience we know there are no winners.
Does he have a Hitler complex?
Yes, Drone.
Wouldn’t that be nice, Ian.
What’s the chances.
Nice post.
For once I agreed with, Big Ears.
Diriculous.
Slightly off topic but back in the day I seem to remember BBC were covering the Hennesset at Newbury and as the horses were coming to the final few fences the BBC cut to coverage of a 6 (maybe 5 then) Nations rugby match, what made it worse the rugby was at the National Anthem stage.
Were you on Grandstand at the time, Ian?
It seems that most of us take what connections say pre-race with a bucket full of salt but still the racing channels persist in devoting so much time to these interviews. Is this another case of ‘them’ knowing what ‘we’ want?
Such a long time since I used it I’d forgotten the make of the main components.
The CD Player, pre-amp and power amp are NAIM NOT Meridian.
Sorry about that.
Number one seems a very good idea, S.A.T.
Thanks for the input, folks.
Meridian CD player, power amp and amp.
Nakamichi cassette deck.
Mission speakers.
Been well looked after and is in decent nick.
Comes with sound table (black steel frame and five thick glass shelves).
Arms dealers rubbing their hands and all their ‘friends” of course.
One has to admire the stamina of the contributors to this thread.
