I think racism is used as an catch all insult by the left and yes, it is devalued

When a far (?) left sympathiser on here ( i wont name names) defended calls for the extermination of a race (or two) in terms that hitler would have blanched at as "the language of the dispossessed", then you know full well that the moral compass has completely broken down completely

What I do find surprising, Pompete, is that you’ve made an impassioned plea for the past fortnight about defending Gaza and the Palestinian people there and yet you won’t defend someone less fortunate than yourself by the sheer courtesy of not laughing at their misfortune.

WTF has that got to do with anything?

Two muslim blokes chatting away…one says to the other " my son wants to be a suicide bomber"

"Blimey. They dont half blow up quickly these days!"

I was speaking to someone only this afternoon who suggested that there are many institutions in the UK willing to lend, but people are being put-off from taking up any offer due to future uncertainty

No doubt there is, but they are not lending to the "right" people. They are willing to lend to those that dont need to borrow.

Alistair Darling was appaling on Radio 4 yesterday morning. Reminded me of Lamont. Rabbit in headlights

Im trying to envisage how the economy is going to genuinely improve. We have yet to see the true effects of unemployment kick in and perhaps not even the results of the Fear of Unemployment. This will simply add to the spiral

On a more jaundiced note, am i alone in wondering why more bank workers havent been fired off? If the goverment is bailing these lazy grasping cnts out, why arent there coniditions? RBOS workers are still getting bonuses FFS

For me, a bully is someone who might….say…..go crazy at his son, simply because he wants to go and see Man Utd rather than his local team.

I would cut the little git out of my will and refuse to talk to him forever is he did that

And quite right too. Tears or no tears

My advice would be to invest in a across the board stock market ISA. The markets will rise again. They always do well before the end of a recession and although there could still be some nasty news to come, its a fair bet they will be recovering well by the end of teh year

As you well know, Hamas is still a big threat but a clearly subdued one. How this progresses is in their hands now. My feeling is that for all the immediate anger that many palestinians will be feeling at this present time, it will be very hard for them to realistically get away from a more sober judgement on those who provoked the action and they will not be wishing to see the same again.

Equitrack is right. We actually need to create a little inflation at the present time. We need demand in the economy badly

But have the goverments inducements been as well targeted ? I thought the VAT cut was clueless myself, for one. It is the emotional impact if thats the right phrase) of the incentive rather than the value that is significant and the VAT one passed everyone by.

This deep recession will be overcome but we will awake into a much more cautious world.

Charlon Heston again announced today that he had alzheimers

    – George Clooney had to apologise for that one but Hestons wife thought it was pretty funny apparently

You cannot ban humour. Humour reflects society and doesnt dictate it. Irish jokes died away a long time ago as have most racist jokes, because we thankfullymoved on (although theres a whole file of australian jokes knocking about these days…). The idea that our thoughts and impulses can be regulated, however offensive they may be to some, is ludicrous

Jokes about death and illness more accurately reflect fear of the same rather than any lack of compassion or desire to "bully". Ive often thought that black humour shows a degree of senstivity to the situation..

The ones you need to worry about are those that dont laugh at anything (or vic reeves)

I went for the first time last year on the Thursday

I couldnt connect with the place at all. Facilities are decent and the scousers friendly enough, but its a suprsingly bleak setting for a racecourse and the viewing is pretty ordinary. It also felt less like a NH meeting than a scouse day out. In a way it reminds me of Epsom.

Its good to see the place once but I wont be hurrying back

    Cheltenham it certainly is not

Are Richard Pryors jokes about white people and stuttering chinamen (****** brilliant i must say…) racist?

The only truth in comedy is that Vic Reeves is not funny

I am suprised at what makes some people laugh but I strongly dislike the idea that someone else should feel it is their role to sit in judgement about what I find amusing..

    Wrong again arent you? 100%

Hamas now knows that Gaza will be hammered if it strikes again.

I suspect Hamas is divided now. Where is the leadership? The lack of, is a clear sign all is not well.

It is not at all relevant to the current situation. Just as the TelAviv bombs arent

Israel is a state that he established and is clearly not going to be "wiped off" the map. Until Hamas acknowledge that pretty basic fact and accpet that they are going to live with it…then there is no common ground on which to negotiate. Just as negotiations with AQ would be laughable, because the gap between the civilised world and their beliefs is too wide

For someone who brought up Anne Frank as an issue relating to Israel at the start of this thread to claim that the race issue is not relevant is beyond belief

Pompete. That speech means nothing to me. Kaufman is refering back to the Hotel bombing? So what? We are dealing with the here and now. That is too difficult for you to understand clearly

Lets spell it out once again for the thick lefties

Israel will negoitiate with Hamas once it stops shelling israeli land and drops its commitment to abolish the israeli state (and jews "wherever they are"

    Got it????

    Very very true

Observational humour is the very best for me and he was a master…

The BBC thinks comedians are best judged by their politics, haircut and whether they are mates of Wossy

Not whether they make you laugh

What we need is Russell Brand refering to George Bush as a "retarded cowboy".

Not to mention "i shagged your daughter" HA HA HA

Now that would have only had been funny if he had phoned Frank Sinatra with that abuse….

… the punchline would be one extremely unfunny "comedian" being fed to the pigs…

    :D
