Poor beast, managed to get over the fence anyway, having broken a back leg a few strides before. Such courage.
So the Irish Racing List confirms another death in action. Poor girl, had a short and shocking record on the track. Let’s hope she’s in a better place now.
She also has the entry N/A against her name in the future form column on Racing Post’s analysis page – I had always assumed, wrongly I hope, that we weren’t likely to see that animal in action again. I look forward to being told I’m a numpty and that it doesn’t mean that at all.
Hi all and hello
My first post here and not a happy one. Sweden yesterday and three further deaths today at Plumpton and, frankly, an appalling few weeks for equine casualties. With Cheltenham and Aintree just around the corner, let’s hope for accident free events so that the sport’s reputation, already tarnished in some quarters, does not suffer further.
RIP to today’s fatalities – Two Cloudy, Blazing Empress and Chocolat.
