Yet another fatal(?) injury in a bumper in Ireland – the 18.00 at Kilbeggan. Anyone know whether the mare survived?
June 6, 2011 at 15:47 #359257She still has an entry today (6th) for Clonmel on 8th
June 7, 2011 at 00:04 #359332She also has the entry N/A against her name in the future form column on Racing Post’s analysis page – I had always assumed, wrongly I hope, that we weren’t likely to see that animal in action again. I look forward to being told I’m a numpty and that it doesn’t mean that at all.
June 8, 2011 at 07:44 #359505Not listed as a runner in any of the races at Clonmel today so fear the worst. Looking at her record, out of 3 races she was pulled up, brought down and slipped up. Poor thing.
I couldn’t work out from watching the race whether she clipped heels, stumbled then fell over her jockey or whether something had gone amiss just before the camera angle changed. Certainly watching the head on replay you could just make her out standing still in the background and that’s never a good sign. Maybe the HRI racing list will have definite news when it comes out this week.
June 9, 2011 at 19:48 #359811So the Irish Racing List confirms another death in action. Poor girl, had a short and shocking record on the track. Let’s hope she’s in a better place now.
