I realise that there have been plenty of people in the past who have pleaded not guilty who have been quite obviously guilty.
But Havlin and Murphy have put up a convincing argument of their innocence. Gosden was also convinced of Havlins innocence. I cannot comment on Downey, as I have not read enough on his case.
Now please do not read into this that I am accusing France Galop of a witchhunt against British and Irish jockeys. I just would like to look at this from a different angle, but I would be interested to know of how many French Jockeys have failed a test in the recent years.
Apparently the threshold for failure in France is lower than in the UK 50 as opposed to 150 which would explain why there are more failed tests in France than the UK.
France never reveal the amount in a failed test, I am not sure if that is a good or a bad thing.
There is another jockey who failed a test recently in France and that is Robbie Downey.
Reading on what happened to Downey and Havlin I would say that Murphy appears not to have any chance with the B test coming back negative.
Admittedly I have much fewer contacts in the sport now but I must confess I am surprised in this case (none of my remaining contacts I’ve spoken to are aware of any issues surrounding him), whereas with Dettori the surprise was he hadn’t been caught sooner.
That is what I want to see on here some good gossip.
My thought as well homersimpson.
Is the French testing more vigorous?

Very envious Simon. Any chance I could borrow your press pass for The Derby?
It is a problem but one that has been here, one and off, for a number of years.
I believe the Prix du Jockey Club ‘French Derby’ was reduced from 1m4f to 1m2.5f in 2005 because the lnger races were becoming less ‘fashionable’
And no race should be termed a Derby unless it is 1m4f.
