Just a ps on the Ballysax. If you took Harzand out of that race and left Idaho winning it by 7 and a half lengths from Beacon Rock, what odds would Idaho have gone into for the Derby at that time?
What do you think of Idaho’s action. Might get away with it on Sunday but no way at Epsom.
Surely they send him to France
There were 3 other races on the card over the same distance, and Midterm’s was the fastest of the quartet by a good bit.
He’s short alright but is a major player in my view.
He was really disappointing. Hopefully he will get another chance in another trial but there was very little by way of positives to take out of that.
Darren, if he is good enough he will run, no question about that. I hope he is good enough
Fantastic write up Ginger – thanks for sharing it with us
Your comment on Goonyella jumping fine in his second Becher caught my eye. it’s given me confidence to back him as I wasn’t sure he enjoyed Aintree
Ultra has met with setback(splint),could miss The Derby
Would be amazed if he runs in this. Even a minor splint problem will mean at least three weeks on the easy list.
Lots of stamina in U.S. Army Rangers pedigree. He could be a Leger horse.
It was his only quote ^^ didn’t say anything else
From the Racing Post. Trainer was quoted as saying that she was not a certain runner in the Imprudence. It was part of the Pricewise feature of this race.
Wonderful write up VTC
Not certain to run in the Imprudence per the trainer. We might have done our dough
Great selection with Ballyadam I hope you did him each way. His stamina just gave out in the end.
Cracking call at 100’s though
I had a few quid on him as well Steve
Thanks Steve for the link
She has a lovely turn of foot to say the least!
Do you think she needs cut in the ground to be effective?
No rain forecast for the week so ground should dry out to something decent.
I’ve backed Sizing Coal at 16s. He was a tad unlucky in the Irish National last season when he got hampered and shuffled back at a crucial stage. Nothing finished better than him that day and he would have been 2nd in another stride.
He’s by Presenting so hoping better ground will see him in a good light. Only 5 chases in his lifetime so hoping he is still unexposed. The stable is in terrific form and he had only one race this season (last month) so should be nice and fresh.
Just read in tomorrow’s RP (iPad edition) that this race is the plan for Broadway
A wonderfully, comprehensive write up
I fancy One For Arthur myself as I think he will improve for the step up in distance. However, he’s entered in the Ivan Straker on Thursday so I’ll have to hold off.
He’s not the only one with options, the Pipe two are entered at Ascot the same day, and a few have entries in the Eider…bit of a minefield ante post.
Best of luck VTC
