Just seen a very nice filly from Sir H. Hot Snap is a half sister to Midday and has won on her debut – something the family tend not to do. A tonic for Sir H after the nightmare that poor Timepiece endured today!!!
And Flow wins nicely at Yarmouth today. Sir H has them firing just now
I see one of his french imports is entered at Gowran Park on Sunday
Al Time wins nicely at 5s and I was on
Two for me today for the inform Cecil yard. The rain has come for both and I am surprised to see Hills offering 9-4 about
Wild Coco
. This race looks easier than the one she won last time out and I would expect her to improve for that as it was her first run in a long time and she has had plenty of time to get over it.
Specific Gravity
is still on a winnable mark on this gound and I would expect him to go close. 7-2 will do for me.
We’ll double up as well!
Unlucky darts joni Thought Wild Coco was very game as the queen’s horse looked to have stolen the race.
Specific ran a decent race and hopefully will pick up another race before the season’s endI see there’s a wee bit give in the ground now so hopefully increases TC’s chances for the Leger
As a 110% scotsman I’d like to wish Aiden all the best. Didn’t realise this was on the cards until they were speaking about it on ATR
Great achievement if he does it and can’t see it being ever matched certainly in my life time…
I hope it rains and Camelot gets stuffed.
Why such animosity?
My thoughts too
Don’t want to start another thread for this and as this is Joni’s thread and he knows quite a bit about Sir H’s string! What’s the latest on Beauty Parlour?
I see she has entries later this month then next month on Champions Day but I’d have thought Sir H would want to get a race into her before then
Edit to say is TC likely to take his chance in the St Leger
* I do sincerely hope Sir Henry’s star continues to burn bright for a few more years. God bless him.
Amen
I have also backed another old fav in
Chachamaidee
at 7’s in the Matron Stakes. Back against her own sex, on an easier track and with the ground coming right she has to be nailed on for a place at least.
Hope Chacha runs another big race but the distance puts me off her
Happy to be proved wrong though
Agree, won’t be backing her over a mile again but hope she runs well today.
Well she eventually got the decision

Sorry EF but as this is my thread i WILL get defensive! Bollox!!! Moore waited far too long to get serious by which time the bird had flown. Great ride by Kirby – shocker from Moore. Superman – i will be all over TC like a rash!
Are you not concerned joni that Tom Queally rides Noble Mission?
Hi BM – luckily enough I didnt spot that she was running! Saw the race though and she didnt run badly but I think she needs stepping up. Definitely not one to take a short price about from now on though.
Re World Domination. He no longer appears on the website and I havent read a gallops report for him for ages so would say that is it. A shame after such a promising start hey?!
Never noticed the World was missing from Sir H’s website well spotted!!
Sorry to bother you again but what’s the story with Fragonard? Noticed she was entered in a few maidens earlier in the ‘summer’ but never appeared. She’s still on the website!!!
Well Joni I bet All Time for the last time today thought Sir H had placed her to win a maiden up north but it was not to be.
Can you tell me Joni what has happened to World Domination is he still in training or has Sir H gave up on him after a few disappointing start to his 4 year old career?
What I found most amazing was that TQ said basically this was a prep race for the Juddmonte.
Imagine being able to use a Group 1 race as a prep race
He’s been well supported Darren and ran a sound race a couple of weeks ago pulling clear with another and looking slightly unlucky to lose. He handles the ground and has a favourites chance. There is a decent Hamdan owned horse up against him though so I wouldnt personally be going overboard at 15-8. In short he should win but I’ll let him run.
Wins by the proverbial Think Ian Mongan is one of the most under rated jocks in the business
Yes MB – Chigun would have won if he had run straight but TQ had a horrible job keeping him off the winner who had the rail. The other one was taken out because of the ground.
Cecil remains in great form and TQ is riding out of his skin. Good signs with RA around the corner.
Speaking of which….that is where Nobel Mission is heading – for the King Edward. As the Derby field whittled down to 9 and the 1st and 3rd from NB’s last race stood their ground I kept thinking he should be in the race. But looking at the form, the best he could have managed would have been 4th and I rather think HRAC ranks a winner at RA almost as high as a Classic these days! He loves that meeting and I am sure thought that he would rather run NB to try and win that race than run him to place at Epsom. He nearly always gets it right and he has again I think.
I read today that they are now working him without a hood and ear plugs (NB I mean not Henry) so it will be interesting to see if he races without both next time. As usual though it looks like it will be a very good race with probably as much strength in depth as the Derby but without the impressive winner.
Just to whet the appetite….I am eagerly awaiting the seasonal reappearance of a Cecil horse this week who I will be putting the mortgage on……more to follow…….
Thanks Joni! A couple of weeks ago I was really worried the way some of Henry’s horses were running but in the last 7-10 days just about everyone of his horses has been involved in the finish.
Thought STIPULTE ran a big race last week and put his classic trial run well behind him
Looking forward to this week….. and RA
A horse I really like runs in The French Derby today.
Ektihaam
may not have had his form franked yesterday but I still think he is a Group 1 horse and I expect him to be there or thereabouts today. Obviously that blasted O’Brien could scupper everything as he could win with a cart horse at the moment but 7-1 is good each way value imo so I’ll go in.
I have noticed that money has come for
Feelthedifference
at Nottingham. It might just be the form of the Cecil stable but I have had a little bit on at 9-2 and doubled it up with his maiden in the next race. You never know – lightning does sometimes strike twice!
Well the maiden was unlucky Joni. Surely there will be a race for her in the future. What happened with Feelthedifference? I see it was a non runner?
Have you heard what plans Sir Henry has for Noble Mission? Beaten a head giving 5lbs to the Derby 4th last time out looks decent now!
Godolphin also have many horses who only seem to race once or twice a year. Maybe no more than three or four runs between their debut and running as a 4 year old in a minor pattern race.
Swedish Sailor seems to be a prime example
