What a great thread Astral. Dedication in spades and a
very worthy winner of Thread Of The Year
Christ Darren, your man Eric Cole is 3 under after 6 holes
and outright 2nd
Not to worry, there’s a long way
to go
Mambonumberfive is a horse that has really impressed me. He was
more than happy to stay well out back last time at Kempton and
anytime he wanted to close is was immediate. Coming to the 3rd
last he moved from last, without having to touch the horse, to sit
alongside the leader. Jumped the 2nd last and casually went 5 lengths
clear. Good jump at the last and he finished 7 lengths clear, but it
could have been much further. The horse looked so nonchalant for the most part of the race and yet
his winning time was 4.49 seconds faster than the average. I think
this is a really good horse and I’ve taken him for 16/1 and in the
Scilly Iles Novice chase at Sandown tomorrow I’ve taken the 7/1.Mambonumberfive 16/1 Bet365

That’s me done, good luck Darren you deserve some after Cole last week.
Only just late for the Bahrain (I thought there was only 2 hours difference
)Wenyi Ding30/1 Bet365 (1st round leader 50/1 PP) he’s not long started, 1 over after 3 (so better price)
Renato Paratore 250/1 (125 1st round leader) Both Bet365 and he hasn’t started
Cole was a sickener Darren, really bad last round.
Good luck Darren, I’m just going to do the Farmers shortly
Thanks Jac, I’ve been spending the last hour trying to get my slip
onto the mem generator site, but antway as I had done so well at
the weekend I stuck on £20 E/W which returned £284
To be honest I didn’t enjoy watching it, I was terrified The
Jam Man would get a bad fall or injury. Instead he jumped really
well and although he doesn’t have the speed now, there was only
a few that got round, but my boy never gave up, quite emotional
to see him cross the line 4th. i’d be happy if the new owner and
trainer let him just run about his field. He gave all he could
today but at 13 I think he’s given a lot over the years, I
think he’s done his bit and deserves a good retirement
They are late off and he’s out to 70/1. He’s gotta be a cert

I should add that the Jam Man is 13 years of age, and has lost 6 hurdles
on the trot for his new trainer. They have flung him into a chase to see
if that can rouse his interest. I get the feeling if he’s tailed off of
pulled up that will likely be his last race. I wouldn’t want to miss that
Thanks Nathan
I just noticed that an old friend of
mine, The Jam Man, who did me well and then let me down in
equal measures
He’s running at Chepstow so I feel I’ve got to have a little dig for
old times sake.3.47 Chepstow – The Jam Man 50/1 E/W 5 places Bet365
Thanks Nick, hope you are keeping well. I’ll have my picks sorted
out before Friday. It might just be a day to have a stable swap,
I could do with some fresh blood
Thanks Andre and Jac, yes it turned out a great weekend, just not
the way I expected it to go, but I’m not complaining. I’ve started
giving serious thought to the Festival now. I’ve had to go through
them for Rummy’s Cheltenham TRF V Pricewise. I better get my skates
on with Bobby’s Compy, just a few days until the Dublin Racing
Festival. Obviousy State Man is going, but I’m not sure who else.
I’ll kick myself if my 2nd transfer out goes and wins a big one
at the festival
Best of luck all at Dublin, time to get the Shekels together for
the Cheltenham Festival
Supreme – Mydaddypaddy 12/1 WIN Bet365
Stayers Hurdle – Ballyburn 20/1 WIN Bet365
Arkle – Romeo Coolio WIN 11/2 William Hill
Champion Chase – Marine Nationale WIN 6/4 Varius
Really disappointed with Si Woo Kim, he was never going to catch
Scheffler the way he played today but I at least expected him
to be in a shake up for the places. I got a bit of a shock with
Gerard. I had written him off but he played a tremendous 7 under
par round to be T2nd. That was a nice surprise.I remember at the time CAS, it made the hairs on the back of my
neck stand up, he wiped the floor with them…..enquiry closed
Thankks Andre and Jac for the encouragement but Si Woo Kim didn’t quite make it, in fact he
didn’t make it at all. Finished 6th with only 5 counting. Darrens long shot had a bad day
at the office from starting 2 off the lead. I had a bit of a longshot as well, Ryan Gerard,
at 50/1 but I didn’t think he had any chance so didn’t bother to mention him. However he
only went and shot a 7 under par round to finish T2nd. I didn’t see that one coming but
here he isSo all in all between Nomean Lion e/w at 50s, Puig 3rd at 16s and the one I hadn’t declared
on here, Gerard, (it was in Darrens Thread ) it’s been a very decent weekend
