How about you get some manners?

I was having an interesting debate with a few of the lad and you come on here and lower the tone of the place with a series of snide remarks.

What exactly are you trying to prove?

Prior to the race I said something along the lines of. The course will be no problem to Denman.

On viewing the race I said "Denman looked fine to me but against what I thought before the race he never looked happy on the track."

How the hell is that covering my ass?. That was an honest straightforward admital I got it wrong.

Anyway you can post what you want and say what you want. I have the comfort of knowing most of the guys on here can read and can clearly see what you are all about and it’s not sensible debate.

There’s a saying in Ayrshire Scotland Friggo. "If you can see the Isle of Craig it’s going to rain and if you can’t see it it’s already raining"

He has won on good/firm but looking at his forma bit of cut would be preferred. Then again he could have gone for the Irish National if it was a major concern so obviously John Quinn thinks it’s not.

Long way off yet and he’s got to get there first.

I was being ironic scallywag, (something completely lost on you obviously)

Obviously. The attempt didn’t leap off the page and it came across, to me at least, as a cheap shot at the Island due to it’s association with some online gambling outfits. We take enough ill-informed comment and criticism as it is.

However, if your comment wasn’t intended in that spirit, I apologise for my respsonse.

Cheap shot? if anyone knows about cheap shots it’s you.

Not to mention Kauto Star. I would be very surprised if the horse couldn’t win at Kempton but if his trainer has any sense he’ll give the King George a wide berth.

The secret is not to aim too high until you are 100% sure you have at least a chance of winning. The way Kauto is performing I wouldn’t dream of taking him on round there.

If they can find other races for him and win a decent prize or two it’s better than running 2nd to Kauto which messes them up if they end up running in a handicap later.

Wonder if Corm can resurrect that famous thread…. but then he’d probably change his name again!

Very funny Carv your a laugh a minute mate, just when I thought you had recovered from stooping so low I find right back here in the gutter. :) Gawd it gets crowded in here sometimes.

Some things never change and some people just can’t help themselves. Have another relapse did we?

BTW the name change was not through choice. I could not log on using Fist of Fury and if you want to know why I suggest you ask David Cormack and don’t assume things to be as they may appear.

Terrible thing assumption. Can make the smartest people look very stupid I hear,.

I have registered as "Fist" to eleviate any confusion but as of yet the account has not been activated.

    Have a nice day

Bollocks. It’s called trying to cover your [expletive] when you realise you’ve made a complete prat of yourself.

And, no doubt, you’ll manage to repeat the trick many times over.

I am sick to death of people like you mate. I fancied Denman and thought he would easily handle the course and I was 100% wrong. I then am discussing the fact that he didn’t handle the course and you come up with complete and utter shtye saying I was covering my ass.

This is a forum where adults debate racing horses and the outcome of races. If you can’t be part of that and be civilised about it the keep the hell away from me as I have no time for those out to make trouble.

i never knew that is butlers cabin prone to collapsing then? how often has this happened? i know he did on saturday and needed oxygen, comply or die apparently needed it too

    vf

He’s been doing it for years. It’s much the same as some people who faint and not dangerous.

Geezus jumpin jahosaphine!!!!! The vets on ever course in the UK are well aware of the horses problem and he has been cleared to run. Oxygen must be kept ready and waiting incase of a repeat incident. FACT!!!!!!

It is apparantly not life threatening and the horse is in no danger whatsoever. What you think Jonjo is? some kind of idiot who would risk a horses life? The horse collapses all the time and 2 minutes later he’s fine. Many horses do but you never hear aout them as they are not in the limelight like he was when he won the 4 miler and The Irish National within weeks and collapsed after each of them.

In fact another horse collapsed in the same race as him (King’s something) and no one gave him a mention. Both were perfectly ok after getting a wash down with waterl

It’s fine discussing these things but stick to the facts and stop assuming things.

Oh, come on, I don’t think the fact My Will ran third made him a good price.

Surely, Mon Mome was a "good" price?

You can come up with specious reasoning as to what My Will

    would have

    done

if he hadn’t done this that and the other etc.

We may as well go through all the fallers and look at what they could have done.

Sure, he may have got 2nd at best, but the winner p*ssed up.

I wouldn’t want to back My Will next time, would you? He still hasn’t won in 3 years and is surely in the handicappers’ grip.

Just out of interest, who would you back next time out, Mon Mome by any chance? I’d rather be on My Will if the two met again and so would most I presume.

Easy to spot a "good" price after the race but anyone who backed My Will anti-post would be pleased surely….. if you’re winning, you’re not losing.

Why would you think for one minute that a horse beaten 13 lengths and has won 1 race in almost 4 years could reverse such a wide margin?

Let me answer that for you. Because he is trained by PN.

If the race were run again and both were in the same condition even with an angel from heaven on his back he couldn’t possible reverse the places.

He had the best jockey you could imagine on his back and ran a great race but the winner won so easily he could have gone round again.

To be honest if the 2 met again with their records none of them would be worth backing as both would probably get beat. When it comes to winning consitancy is hardly part of their makeup.

Ruby gave him a great ride. He really whacked the fence at the canal turn but Ruby never looked like coming off. In the end he’s run well but was still a silly price for such an open looking race.

Despite jumping poorly, making at least three bad mistakes, My Will made a profit for his each way followers, so how was he a "silly price"? Had he jumped anywhere near as well as the winner, he’d have given Mon Mome plenty to do. My Will probably did not run to form yet still finished third.

The second, third and fourth were all very well fancied, so it was not that "open".

    Mark

So what he finished 3rd? He was a rediculous price for the Grand National that was one of the most open races for years.

He ended up 8/1 so 1 pt ew is 2 pts staked to get a 3pt return in the worlds toughest steepelchase.

Have you the remotest idea what the chances were he would be out of the first 4? Luck was on his side and he got placed but that doesn’t alter the fact he was a mugs bet and sometime mugs are lucky. How lucky were they? Had some of the fallers stood up he could easily have been out of the 4.

The minute PN saddles anything it knock lumps of the price and the mugs come pouring in.

A classic example was Tatenan. Since the day he was made fav for the Arkle I said he was a false fav. A far superior animal Kalahri King was 25/1
when he was 3/1 and I saw real value and backed him EW. The the other day what do the bookies do they make PN’s fav again.

So while you are backing a horse at 1/2 to get a place in a huge field in the Grand National I am getting stuck into 9/4 about a horse that should have been 4/5 and you are talking to me about value???

You haven’t got a clue……..1/2 value in the Grand National is beyond the reals of common sense something you clearly lack.

    Yeah something like that Grassy

    or

Thank you for your enquiry regarding our horse.

He is in good health but although he hold several entries plans are uncertain at this time.

The trainer will be discusssing future plans with the owner in the near future and an announcement will be made to the press in due course.

    Best regards

Some may feel this is me jumping to Jonjo’s defnece but it is not, it’s purely common sense. If there were any risk to life or limb surely the course vet wouldnt pass the horse fit to run?

I suggest one should do further research before passing comment on this one.

Then I would have said. "I’m having trouble keeping some sheep penned in at home. Could you pop over and help me I am told your are good with Dykes"

I looked it up on the internet: Sandi Toksvig eh? They say our Claire has a good eye for a horse. Seems they are spot on  .

    Fists

Neptune Collonges could have set a better pace, should have, and most certainly did last year where, far from being outpaced as was the case this time, he finished best of all the principals.
Whether it would have incommoded Kauto Star enough to make a difference, neither you or I could say, but it is blindingly obvious that NC wasn’t ridden to best advantage, and the owner has every right to complain when, as it seems, the race was orchestrated against his own horse’s interests.
The only energy he was conserving was apparently that of his stablemate’s.

Perahaps he could have but what would the end result have been. Maybe Hales was expecting too much. I have been saying for a year NC was flattered by KS becuase he ran below form.

PN had a few runners and as far as I can see he ran them all to give tem the best chance possible. If that played into the hands of Kauto then so be it. One things for sure PN should be praised like Tricky Dicky was not questioned by some silly owner who wasn’t happy with the end result.

I’m not surprised PN walked away shaking his head. NC simply isn’t in the same league as Kauto Star and it wouldn’t have mattered a rats ass if he set off at 2 million miles an hour Kauto would still have won.

Owners can be complete prats when their dreams are shattered. I have seen it first hand and assure you reason flies out the window when reality sets in.

If Hales thinks his horse should have finished closer he’s lost the plot and if Downs think he should have been ridden differently his opinion sucks.

PN did the business in a big way, 4 from the first 5 home ffs. He’s the man as far as I’m concerned and the rest should respect that and keep their silly mouths shut.

BTW Roll On 18/1 for the Whitbread. Don’t say I never told you

I think the winner was a 25/1-33/1 winer in disguise. Wat too many peple backed the horse early doors for him to start at 100/1.

100/1 is for complete rags not a horse who beat one of the AP favs in a decent field a few months back.

This one slipped trough the net and that’s the only reason he messed up the stats IMO Amazing price!!!
