    “This is beneath absolute poppycock.”

What you really meant to say, of course, is: “that’s an interesting point, Ian, but I don’t entirely agree.”

There, that’s much nicer – fixed it for you!

I will be back later when I’ve worked out a kind euphemism for “you are clearly still as mad as a balloon, Captain.”

Could I politefully ask you to refrain from using highly offensive terms such as ‘mad as a balloon’. You know what Bachelors is like, I fear he may be experiencing palpitations following your latest outburst.

The deal/treaty I and my legal advisers would like to offer reads thus: “You cease and desist from use of the positively caddish term ‘poppycock’ and I in turn shall declare a unilateral ban on referring to inflatables when speculating about mental health in others.”

Able to sign on the dotted line to all that?

A lot of fuss about a not very good racehorse!

I think it is fair to criticise horses if they have not come up to expectations. I have not seen Yankee Stadium’s effort at Ripon but I did back him in a race at Newcastle a few months ago which I thought even he might be able to win. As I recall, he did not look as if he was giving it 100%.

I hope not many people were crazy enough to back him at odds on yesterday.

I think you can criticise a horse’s performance without being disrespectful and making it sound like some worthless commodity.

Obviously the horse has no clue either way, but when we start talking about them like this it makes it sound like we do not value them or their welfare at all.

I know there’s no persuading you Captain Robbo, but I think you are missing the point.

I had best resign myself to attending the support group, though being in such illustrious company sounds pretty good!

Well on the way to a cracking TRF dinner party there – add CAS, TTC, Gladiateur and a few more and the joint is rocking!

Indeed, we are in danger of people pretending they’re snowflakes just so they get to hang out with the hip crowd…

Robbo’s OR as a TRF poster is on the rise, and has a p/+ next to it. Yet I’d still have the good Cap’n rated a good few pounds lower than Yankee Stadium, except on Shergar Cup day where his record is enviable.

That is the first time I have ever been mentioned in the same sentence as “rocking”. :-)

To be fair, Nathan you’ve yet to be invited.

    There’s still time, though….

Agree with TTC re the good Captain’s OR.

He was sensational on Shergar Cup Day, but was that a one-off like when Roberto beat Brigadier Gerard?

“Think it was meant as more ‘Status Quo’ than Keith Moon CAS.”

    My favourite Keith Moon story:

“In a limousine on the way to the airport, Moon insisted they return to their hotel, saying ‘I forgot something.’ At the hotel he ran back to his room, grabbed the television and threw it out of the window into the swimming pool below. He then jumped back into the limo, saying ‘I nearly forgot’.”

Not sure half these additional invitees have proved their snowflake credentials! This made me think what would be the best collective noun to apply to such a group – a meltdown of snowflakes perhaps?
