Possibly more accurately titled “Green’s non runners” but I’ll try to stick to win only to limit the damage.
    Four to start:

Master Tommytucker King George 50-1 5pts win
As per VtC’s comments on the big race thread, nice horse if he can stay the right way up. I like his style which suits the track and this is the target per Harry Derham. Hopefully get to see him in the flesh at Down Royal in November.

Chantry House RSA chase 40-1 5 pts win
Ye didn’t have long to wait for the first “Green picks the wrong target” ;-) – he is half this price for the Marsh. This bet mostly depending on Envoi Allen* being sound, good at jumping fences, aimed at the Marsh and everyone wanting to dodge him. Henderson has Shiskin for the Arkle and wanted Chantry House over the Ballymore trip this year (but probably didn’t complain too much about Sporting John going off to get beaten by EA – he can pull rank next year). Definitely going chasing by the sounds of it anyway (and by the way he hurdled in the Supreme) and Henrietta Knight says he is a good jumper, and she doesn’t say that about every horse. There are various JP novices to juggle over fences next year and he could go Marsh, but he has bits of stamina scattered around the pedigree and settles well in his races so could suit the 3m.
(*of course, the sensible thing to do with this line of thinking is to forget which race Chantry House might be going to and just back Envoi Allen for the Marsh, but I’m too thran for that).

Dickie Diver RSA chase 66-1 5 pts win
Going against my rule of avoiding unsound giant horses here. Yeah, maybe he is a not-the-4-miler boat but worth a few bob at the price, particularly if Nick Luck is right and they bin the NH chase instead of a handicap to keep the bookies happy. Form with Lisnagar Oscar turned out OK.

Allaho Gold Cup 25-1 5pts win
Lovely horse, a year younger than and jumped nearly as well as Minella Indo (who I also like) in the RSA and two years younger and jumped much better than Champ. Started his novice season slightly later than planned due to pulling a shoe in training which took some hoof with it, and still showed some signs of greenness in the RSA which was his third chase start. Lovely long stride, plenty of scope and jumps nicely, didn’t panic when he made the odd mistake. Steering not as sharp as it could be, which hopefully a year’s experience and the new course would help. Definitely needs to learn to settle better – he was leaning on Townend’s hands the whole way, but more in a babyish way than a total headcase way. Received wisdom seems to be that he didn’t stay but he didn’t look exhausted to me, more that he doesn’t have the big flashy engine that Champ has and didn’t have the nous to try to get the revs up again. Again, half the price for the Ryanair- and if Al Boum Photo is working well perhaps they may not want to run them against each other- but it must be a bit tempting to try to win the race to give Chevely Park their first Gold Cup….

Good luck this season Grass, especially with Master Tommytucker.

    I’m still loving that 50’s

Yes David he’s gorgeous! Will be following him next season for sure.

Broome Coronation Cup 10-1 5pts win

Ran very well in the Ballysax on seasonal reappearance last year and followed it up in the Derrinstown. Didn’t disgrace himself at Epsom after his habitual slow start, which hopefully won’t matter as much at Newmarket and the more galloping nature of the course should suit too.

I’m going to ignore the Irish Derby run, but the fact that they tucked him up at home after that suggests there might have been some problem that didn’t show up on post race vet exam- perhaps ulcers or something like that. He was also quite lanky last year and perhaps needed the extra year to strengthen. I think he needs every inch of the 12f to get rolling and this is the race for him :good:

    Royal Dornoch 2000gns 40-1 2.5pts ew

Took a while to get going last year and his form is patchy, but he’s tough and stays anyhow.

Well it’s going splendidly with Peaceful a NR and Broome out to 14s ;-)

Miss Yoda Oaks 33-1 55pts win

She’s a double handful alright but am hopeful that if she has settled down she should get into a decent rhythm and acquit herself well in the trial tomorrow.

The horse to watch is Ferny Hollow trained by WPM.

They think he is a machine

Harry Senior RSA chase 50-1 PP 5pts win

I like his form so far- King Roland had a busted pelvis that time, but Protektorat was further behind and he has won since, as has Global Fame who HS comfortably beat at Chepstow.

Difficult one for you the other day Grass with poor Harry, but you’ll hopefully be keeping these coming, and look forward to a few dark ones from you.

Will give it a go anyhow. Last of the the ill advised flat ones for the year:

    Breeder’s Cup Filly+Mare Turf
    Cayenne Pepper 12-1 NRNB* b365
    2.5pts ew 1/5 odds 3pl

Just realised why Cayenne Pepper is that price- she has the worst draw. Oh well.

Next bet is more in hope than expectation given the trainer isn’t talking like he has the next Altior but we’ll see in 10 minutes what’s what.

Tingle Creek Esprit du Large 22-1 2.5pts ew
(This was PP Power up from 20s which I felt justified including as 25s available with other firms I don’t have an account with)
