The last one isn’t doing brilliantly but I thought I’d go again, keeping this thread for the next NH season

    mares novice, Cheltenham
Belle Metal 5 pts 20s win

She looked good last time; disadvantages- this is no longer Mullins’ domain and also she might have been wound up with Jody Townend claiming to win well and sell on her first start. Advantages- he’s hardly going to sell Kenny Alexander a dud and also, I think some of his horses may have been not quite at themselves at the festival so maybe it is still his domain.

Good luck Grass, you’ll no doubt unearth a few crackers along the way

Thanks VtC. Going to put in a few before Aintree:

King George Real Steel 66-1 5pts win
He bled in it this season, which I don’t like, but the trainer has dealt with these before (eg Politologue)

Ryanair Fusil Raffles 25-1 5pts win
Has good course form barring one “too bad to be true” run. I quite fancy him for tomorrow, think he is a proper grade 1 horse. Available for this at 33s with some firms.

Gold Cup Chantry House 25-1 10 pts win

Really like this horse, the only GB challenger I can see. 10pts cos it’s the gold cup!

Hmm Real Steel bet not looking shrewd.
    Chantry House up next.

Cheltenham Gold Cup Fakir d’Oudaries 66s 5pt ew

I think next season might be his big year, Sizing John style. He’ll be 7 and has good course form.

I have picked Sir Ron Priestley in my TTF and hope for a very good year for him.

Sir Ron Priestley bet not too shrewd now- hope just slightly below par but turns out Ascot gold cup not a target.

Arc de Triomphe Logician 50-1 10pts win

^forgot to put the horse in the above bet- looking pointless now anyhow- it was Ashdale Bob who hasn’t grown as much and isn’t as good a jumper as I thought he would be.

Looking forward to seeing this one out today:

Arkle Blue Lord 28-1 5pts win

The 28s was with a Paddy Power boost which I don’t normally add to these but he’s 40s with Coral so I felt justified putting 28s.

Ballymore Hob House 40-1 2.5pts ew

Southwell not where Nicky usually sends his shining stars but who knows. Interesting that he has been pitched into a novice hurdle rather than a maiden, and also that he does not wear a hood- the trainer commented in the stable tour that he had settled down a lot.

Hob House may have talent but he is mad.

Capodanno runs today, I’m going to get him on board for the old RSA. He’s quite young and should have plenty of scope to improve for a fence, perhaps more so than the smaller GDM. Stable tour quite positive too.

    BANC Capodanno 33-1 5pts win (b365)

Finally an AP selection for the old RSA stays on his feet…just

    Stayers hurdle
    Lisnagar Oscar 50s
    On the Blind Side 40s
    Both 2.5pts ew

OTBS be Nicky’s stayers horse now I think (amazed if Champ makes it) and I will never desert Lisnagar. Or probably never.
