Big Buck’s isn’t a hound
Big Bucks and Tidal Bay are both failed chasers, both have their own character and quirks, one has more speed than the other!
March 1, 2010 at 21:09 #279954I don’t think that anyone is suggesting Tidal Bay will beat Big Bucks
I am!
March 1, 2010 at 21:11 #279956LOL – BB’s just young, screamer in the Hennessy, not the best ride either, all class, all heart, all gravy
Now about this Tidal Bay over fences…….

Dont worry about his fencing! Worry about him sprinting up the hill and turning over a supposed good thing! Worried yet?
March 1, 2010 at 21:17 #279960Nah fella BB wins easily by a few lengths, as usual. Maybe 4L this year. Karabak is 2nd the rest are completely strung out with the washing.

Try this for size then! Tidal Bay was rated 166 as a chaser Big Bucks 159! Big Bucks beat Krugyorova by 2 lengths in Jan 08, Tidal Bay beats Krugyorova by 13 lengths in the Arkle of March 08! You are in for a big surprise!
March 1, 2010 at 21:28 #279963How best to put it really….?
One is absolutely top class and has proved it over hurdles (ref Punchestowns).
The other is old and having an Indian Summer in the background.
There, not too bad in the end!!
March 1, 2010 at 22:05 #279967Do you two need anybody to hold your jackets?
March 1, 2010 at 22:11 #279968it’s all good banter

Might be the same this year – if they run the World Hurdle over 2 miles.

Kruguyrova beat Big Buck’s 4 lengths Feb 2008, don’t forget that
March 1, 2010 at 22:55 #279978Lol. All very entertaining I must admit.
Would Punchestowns beat Tidal Bay in a 3m hurdle race?
Easily.
Not a lot more to add, see you on the track
March 2, 2010 at 00:40 #279982The first 4 home: Big Bucks, Karabak, Tidal Bay and Powerstation…in no particular order
The only horse who has a chance of beating Big Bucks is Tidal Bay imo.

The fact that people are resorting to using Kruguyrova and chase ratings as a means of arguing the case for Tidal Bay serves only to prove that i) they’re getting incredibly desperate and ii) they’re absolutely bonkers.
All you need to know is that Big Buck’s is rated 174 over hurdles, is still improving and has already beaten the best stayers around, whilst Tidal Bay is rated 160, is unlikely to be improving and arrives at the Festival having beaten mere handicappers in receipt of weight.
I don’t think Tidal Bay has it in him to beat Karabak let alone Big Buck’s, but if there’s anything less than six lengths between the two I’ll be amazed. In fact, if Tidal Bay finishes five lengths or less behind Big Buck’s I will donate £100 to a charity of The Ante-Post King’s choice (though I get the feeling it will be the funny farm to which he’s soon to be committed).

Even if BB is a stone superior to TB he’ll still probably only finish a couple of lengths ahead. Not a good idea to back idlers to win by big distances

Donate it to the Air Ambulance, you might need it! (only joking) before i get arrested by the Ginger Police!
