Was thinking the same about AFC. There’s no pleasure in watching him race these days.

And, BTW, as the skittles tumble, Rock on Ruby looks well worth the gamble that he’ll get the trip.

Makes for interesting reading if you’re in the Rock On Ruby camp Joe.

The first link wasn’t totally wasted Boz. I hadn’t realised Carlisle was on tomorrow :D

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

A nice form boost to the chances of Monksland from Dedigout yesterday! Dream the impossible dream!

I would advise against beat that lads, not publishing my reasons but will advise over PM why(if anyone was considering getting into him)

Confirmed today that he wont go to Cheltenham.

    https://theracingforum.co.uk/horse-r … &start=585

GRADE 1-winning novice hurdler Beat That will miss next month’s Ladbrokes World Hurdle, which he was as short as 10-1 for.

    World Hurdle card
Trained by Nicky Henderson for Michael Buckley, Beat That scored at the top level at Aintree and Punchestown’s spring meetings last year, but will miss the Cheltenham Festival, it was revealed on Monday.

He has had only one start this season when well beaten behind Rock On Ruby at Cheltenham last month and will be kept for a novice chase campaign next term.

"We’ve been trying to get Beat That there but we have to say enough’s enough," said Henderson. "We are just going to put him away and wait for novice chasing next season.

"I don’t know why, but it just hasn’t happened for him for some reason this season. He ran a nice race up to a point at Cheltenham, but it’s not fair to throw him into a race like that on such a preparation.

"He’ll have a Sprinter Sacre sort of sabbatical – a good summer off – and then come back over fences next season."

Henderson could still be represented in the World Hurdle by 16-1 chance Blue Fashion and 14-1 shot Whisper, who will be among a team of 12 the former champion trainer will send to exercise at Kempton on Tuesday.

Now confirmed by the RP that More Of That definitely misses Cheltenham.

Read Darryl Jacob’s piece on the Racing Post site. Makes plenty of sense to me 20/1 NRNB looks an outstanding price considering he gave weight and comes out the better horse on the book with both of the favourites for the race, Saphir De Rheu and Zarkandar this year. Beat Zarkandar at Ascot, possibly due to temperament of the Nicholls horse, possibly outstaying him. I know Saphir probably has more improvement in him and Reve wants it on the soft side of good… But there should not be that much in the betting between the three surely?

His trainer said after Ascot that he will run in the Word Hurdle ‘whatever the ground’, so your gamble would be on the going coming up soft or worse.

He hasn’t won on Good since the end of 2010. Since 2011, they’ve pretty much stopped running him on good ground, the festival being the exception.

Whatever the weather on the run-up, no matter how wet the week before, that drainage seems to do its job year after year.

Am prepared to gamble on it being good-soft when the prices make it worth it. There are many other horses best with soft in the tittle ahead of him in the betting, with far worse form than Reve.

I’ve also just backed Rock On Ruby @ 9/1 on the machine. Promises to stay 3 miles and his Cheltenham Festival form is hard to overlook.

Isn’t much between several of these, front two in the market look very short to me. Not sure Zark will put it all in up the hill if it came to a fight. Saphir’s very best is on softer and hasn’t yet run well in the Spring (from admittedly limited opportunities). In fact I’d make Rock On Ruby favourite!

Not sure I agree with this GT, not convinced he’ll see out the trip that well. I don’t see anything in his form that says he ‘promises’ to stay three miles.

Rock on Ruby will definitely miss having Fehily on board and Reve Di Sivola showed his worth at this level in last years renewal when he ran deplorably – he’s a winter horse.

    Sorry Ginge

 was thinking the same thing myself. Reports from closutton are that she is absolutely flying…

I can’t have Zarkandar here, don’t see him having the class to better the massively progressive Saphir de Rheu or Annie Power. Backing both at each way Nrnb is tempting
