I would say it’s almost bordering on ridiculous to say that Fallon is over-rated.
Depends what the rating is. But when a certain well known journalist tells us that hes the "best ever"….. overrated is a mild description
I dont even think hes the best riding at the moment, let alone all time ffs
I don’t think he is the best riding at present either, nor is he the best ever Clivex – and this is exactly why I have asked for clarification as to why MM thinks he is over-rated.
If some one says Fallon is the best jockey ever, then yes, he is probably over-rated.

October 8, 2007 at 18:43 #118561yes it could be classed corporate crime but i’d like to see how many off them fat toffs in offices risk their lives by going out and riding thoroubred horses every day
.
And id like to see how many of the stunted simpletons could analyse a balance sheet….

October 8, 2007 at 20:49 #118589For those who have the patience to review former Arc winners ridden by English jockeys may I suggest that they will find that Eddery on Dancing Brave and Kinane on Carrols House both caused interference by heading straight for the rail as soon as they got their noses in front. Kinane was subject to an enquiery and Eddery should have.Neither was punished. Before replying please study both of those races.
Eddery on Dancing Brave? You must have been watching a different race to me.
October 8, 2007 at 20:56 #118592Nonsense. It has nothing to do with defending anyone. I read your post, thought it was out of proportion and in poor taste and said so.
And please for the love of all that is holy, if you don’t quite know what a word or phrase means, look it up!

October 8, 2007 at 21:22 #118599I have yet to see such blood turned from one of Clivex’s stone’s.
This has a curious poetry to it and I enjoyed it
October 8, 2007 at 21:23 #118600Cheers arandale. Couldnt have put it better
I cannot believe some of what ive read there
Nothing more to say frankly.
October 9, 2007 at 11:04 #118660When I started this thread I didn’t think it was going to become so heated,
Apologies for not replying earlier Mikky Mo, but my local team Moorefield beat our hated local rivals Sarsfields in the county final, so I was celebrating with a gratuitous amount of alcohol, as I type I am just finishing off the recorked bottle of chilean I had from last nights sit down chinse meal before I go for more of Neesons finest.
I never said Fallon was a bad jockey but good horses will invariably make good jockeys, another of the many incidents of Fallon ridden horses straying off a true line, Ad Valorem in the Queen Anne at Ascot, down right dangerous imo, how he was allowed to keep that race beggars beleif,
Fallon consistently flouts the whip rules ie over shoulder and forearm down the neck. familiarity breeds contempt, Eddery in his prime was pure poetry, Still stick resoluetly to my opinion on Fallon as been most overrated jockey that has ever ridden.October 9, 2007 at 11:26 #118666most overrated jockey that has ever ridden.
that would be a certain L Dettori

October 9, 2007 at 12:17 #118676Fallon is one of the best around. I put him right up there with the best – but below Piggott and Eddery, I hasten to add.
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
October 9, 2007 at 12:17 #118677In fairness to Marz, he hasn’t said (I haven’t checked BTW) that Fallon isn’t good, just overrated.
