Count Octave ran a good Melbourne Cup trial yesterday I thought. Am on at 33s. You never know.
September 3, 2018 at 15:07 #1369118Getting very excited about seeing Frankel again tomorrow at Banstead Manor. I have borrowed my sons Canon 600 and hoping to get some great pictures of Himself through the day.
I’m the morning we are visiting William Haggas’s yard where all fingers crossed that Sea Of Class will be on show.
Lady Cecil will be leading our tour and, if I get the chance, I’m going to ask her about Kind and her new filly foal a full sister to Frankel, in particular to ask if she has a name yet.
Hope to post up some pictures when I come back from holiday around 20th Sept. and compare them to those I took a few years back to see how he has matured.
Jac

September 3, 2018 at 17:10 #1369436Thanks Joni it’s going to be one hell of a day, we have to meet up with our Tour Leader at the entrance to the Rowley Mile at 9.00 am and then on to the Frankel Lounge, the thing that I love about this bit is that I get to walk there across the Parade Ring and for just one moment I can stand there and dream.
Will have the pics up as soon as I can but going away Thursday and want some time to sort through them.
If I get a couple on my mobile I might just get them up here on Wednesday to keep you going until I get back. Will certainly report back on the day.Keep backing winners Joni, this has not been my best year but think I have seen one or two this season that will come good for the Craven and Guineas but it’s early days yet. I’ve just got this feeling that Godolphin are going to win big next season, their operation is going from strength to strength so will be pinning my colours to the boys in blue next season.
Great to see Veracious back in winning form on Saturday,

Can’t wait to see any pics you have of the superstar!!
September 5, 2018 at 09:47 #1370864Had the most fantastic day yesterday, visited William Haggas yard where we said hello to Sea Of Class who looks amazing and ready for her attempt to win The Arc, also saw the Queen’s Seniority, Muthmir and another of my old favs Tasleet
Best of all was our visit to Banstead Manor with Lady Jane Cecil as our guide, we saw Dansili enjoying his retirement and then Oasis Dream, Kingman and Bated Breath were shown to us before the Superstar came and stole all their thunder….managed to upload a few pics onto the computer unedited, and here he is for Joni, Raymo, Chaos and all who were wondering how he is looking now.
He has been on a diet and not looks much fitter than the last time I visited…Now standing for £175,000.Frankel and Lady Jane Cecil – re-united again
She said that Frankel was probably more interested in the carrot.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 5, 2018 at 10:56 #1370919Sounds like a great day. Lovely pics x
September 5, 2018 at 12:14 #1370961where are all the Frankel 2 yr olds? Surly they can’t be all rubbish? Seen couple in France with maidens but when stepped up in better company there nearer last than first
September 5, 2018 at 12:57 #1370973I was wondering that. However, generally, his good ones aren’t known for their 2yo careers. Cracksman, Eminent, Mirage Dancer, Without Parole – all just one run towards the end of the season. Exception is the AOB pair, Nelson & Rostropovich who haven’t really fulfilled the promise of their 2yo form (albeit they seem to be largely used as pacemakers for Coolmore stallions’ progeny this season). Perhaps trainers are taking note of this and campaigning their decent Frankels accordingly
September 5, 2018 at 13:50 #1370997It’s crazy that is fee is 150k and in his what 3rd season he hasn’t had any decent 2yrs out yet.

Frankel’s sire stats on the whole are still very good. He seems to be producing later maturing types, however, even with that, he has a healthy 31 from 66 runners win rate.
A bit like a Cracksman for example, many aren’t hard pushed at 2 as the are deemed slow maturers….if that means he is a crazy fee, fair enough, everyone will want a sire to do different things!

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 5, 2018 at 14:52 #1371001Bloody hell jack I feel like I’m being stalked by you if your that keen you could just ask for my number
September 5, 2018 at 15:00 #1371004His fee has risen to £175,000 we were told yesterday in an effort to breed the best with the best.
However even the chance of getting a healthy foal into the world holds its dangers and getting that foal to the racehorse holds even more knowing how prone horses are to injury.
Frankel’s youngsters that make it are, in most cases, being given the best introduction to racing in their first year as Frankel was.
He didn’t run his first race until August.
Give them a chance and hopefully we will see them mature and go on to become Champions like their dad..but there are never any guarantees, just hopes and dreams..JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 5, 2018 at 15:08 #1371005Bloody hell jack I feel like I’m being stalked by you if your that keen you could just ask for my number
