Blade, That EFL Trophy comp is a minefield, theres some strange rules about being allowed to play under strength sides, as long as four of the starters played in the previous league match. So in effect, these group matches are just used as a squad run out. Draws are quite common though, with pens after 90 mins, which may be a nice angle to play.

Yeah that’s true mate, but tbh I view the early stages of pretty much all cup comps the same way.
