High Chaperall would s**t all over them all…PURE CLASS
High Chapparal was a good horse in his own right but he won two of the weakest Breeders Cup turfs in living memory (dead heated in one), which exaggerrated his stature. Actually the Breeders Cup turf has turned into a virtual penalty kick for any half decent European challenger, Ouija Boards victories were also exaggerated. The race is no more than a half baked Group 2 race theses days, but connections don’t care, certainly inhanced their breeding fees.
Stop Press : Actually Ouija Board won a Filly and Mare, which was one of the worse races ever run at the Breeders Cup.

Agree with sentiments about Ouija Board. However HC was a class horse, won Irish and Epsom Derby and a very strong Irish Champion Stakes. He was one of the best three year olds of 2002.

October 20, 2007 at 10:47 #120591seems like i missed quite a few horses off the list but the ones i listed were top performers of the last couple of seasons. so what would be the ultimate race including those everyone has mentioned? maximum field of 12!!

Ok, I’ve got a few races here over different distances with the best horses I’ve seen mixed in together to make a few fantasy races. Just for a bit of fun.

IslingtonI think the vast majority of people would agree with me about Dayjur winning that sprint race, even with such strong oppisition. I think there would be lots of different opinions about the other races.

Seeing that you’ve gone to such great lengths…..

5f Dayjur – barring any unexpected shadows.
1m Zafonic – if he was in the same form as on Guineas day.
1m2f A real toughie, but I’ll go for Daylami, who just got better and better.
1m4f Montjeu, at his imperial best, to edge out Peintre Celebre and the vastly underrated Old Vic.
2m Deep Impact, assuming that he’s given a prep race and that his jockey doesn’t balls it up. Going a little further back, Ardross would have laughed at the lot of them, mind.
Both fillies’ races Bosra Sham. Simply different class and would never have been beaten but for her dodgy feet.October 20, 2007 at 23:03 #120710Picture the setting…Ascot, Going: Good. A warm summers day. A group 1 1m2f race…this is the card:
1. Manduro
2. Ouija Board
3. Deep Impact
4. Invasor
5. George Washington
6. Dylan Thomas
7. Hurricane Run
8. Shirocco
9. Authorized
10. Rail Link
11. Hearts Cryimagine they are all on form, in their prime. I have chosen a few horses who have big races over the past couple of years, feel free to add some more to this super race!!

Superfecta:
1st Ouija Board
2nd Shirocco
3rd Manduro
4th Hurricane RunOctober 20, 2007 at 23:15 #120711I spend enough time trying to find the winners of real races, without getting involved in fantasy ones.
