I think they won every game in a canter technically superbApril 13, 2026 at 10:21 #1763487Hold my hands up glad never heard of him but he scored a hat trick in that game at Wembley
April 13, 2026 at 11:11 #1763491I think it was Harold Wilson who said, “A week is a long time in politics.” Well 2 years+ is an even longer tine! By then Trump will be history and everyone will know all his policies have been a disaster. Given that Farage and Reform spend their time monitoring Trump’s backside, everyone will know Reform’s policies would be disastrous for this country.
I would not count your chickens!
April 13, 2026 at 11:43 #1763494If there’s one good thing about Trump it has shown the world the reality of what far right policies actually are. And that the people leading them who profess to be doing it for the working man are actually just in it to make the rich ( especially themselves) richer.
April 13, 2026 at 19:05 #1763539Good news that Orban’s gone though his replacement and his party doesn’t really represent a radical change, just a move from far-right to not-so-far right. Still, let’s be positive and wish him well.
A fair assessment I’d say. I know little about Hungarian politics but I wonder is Magyar’s party is something like their version of so called ‘One-Nation’ Tories? They’d be a party of their own these days and certainly far more palatable than the Tories in their current guise or Reform (both pretty much the same thing of course).
April 14, 2026 at 09:04 #1763570Magyar’s Tisza Party seems to be generally described as a conservative centre-right pro-European populist party, so other than the dreaded word ‘populist’ this more-or-less aligns with One Nation Tories.
The party, formed in 2020, is named after the River Tisza, though apparently it’s also a play on words with ’tis’ being the beginning of a word meaning ‘respect’ and ‘sza’ the beginning of one meaning ‘freedom’
April 14, 2026 at 12:23 #1763579Received a letter in the post today from Nigel Farage begging me to back Reform. In bold was ‘we will get rid of illegal immigrants’ and -‘we will keep the triple lock’ the latter no doubt to suck up to pensioners. Regarding illegal immigrants there was no mention of their proposal to spend £2 billion setting up an ICE type agency. Nor was there any mention of having to ignore International law to achieve their aim, meaning we all lose our human rights.
The worry is that they are being sponsored by billionaires so they can afford to send a letter to every voter in the country. Money spent now should be included in the limit each party can spend on electioneering.
April 14, 2026 at 12:53 #1763582I really hope the local Reform candidate knocks on my door in the next few weeks, although I somewhat doubt that they will.
