A – An acceptance, it was a democratic vote and we will get on with our lives?
B – A lot of sulking, going through the motions, its not my country…..?
C – The right and people will never be allowed the vision they want for the country, just like Brexit?
D – Anarchy from the left?April 9, 2026 at 10:02 #1762413Everyone would find their rights stripped and the whole country would be in an economic mess.
April 9, 2026 at 12:17 #1762437To answer the question – the country would become a mini America and all our rights would be taken away.
First, we would no longer honour International Law.
Second, £2 billion of out taxes would be spent on setting up an ICE type agency.
Then all immigrants would be wheeled out of the country leading the NHS to collapse.
Our doctor’s surgeries and dental practices would go into administration as there would be a complete lack of qualified personnel to run them.
Our job security would be slashed as they have said they would abolish the Employment Protection Act. It would be back to the 1950’s – hire and fire.
We would have to pay for all NHS services at high rates.
Benefits will be slashed, while the super rich would benefit from tax cutsIt would be just like America – the very people who voted for them would suffer the most. Women would wake up to find they are second class citizens with no rights whatsoever.
In short, the country would be ….ed.
April 9, 2026 at 19:10 #1762561Thank you for your replies, but I was thinking about behaviours and the reaction of yourselves, and the left as a whole.
April 9, 2026 at 19:15 #1762562I don’t speak for the left as a whole.
I would be disappointed, but would respect the result, just as with Brexit. And let’s be absolutely clear: a rightwing victory in 2029 would be just as catastrophic for the country as the result of the 2016 referendum was, if not more so.
Think Truss was bad? Wait until Farage gets in.

Don’t make me laugh, from the topic nobody on here as accepted The Brexit result. Most people who voiced their response, not just on here but anywhere was disagreeing with the result and was saying things like those who voted to leave are old and will die before long. An insult if I ever heard it.
I don’t think the leave vote was taken seriously and didn’t think it would get even 50%, perhaps a 2/3 majority would have been better.
You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.April 9, 2026 at 19:57 #1762569“Don’t make me laugh … nobody on here as accepted The Brexit result.”
Evidence, please. Show me one example of where I didn’t accept it.
April 9, 2026 at 19:59 #1762571I would love The Right to win the next GE.
The current government has splashed the cash so much there’s no room for financial manoeuvre; they have no financial fallback or headroom as ‘some’ have called it.I want to see the Welfare bill slashed; people taken off welfare who really shouldnt be on benefits; the list of illnesses totally reformed and cut.
Plus, make all benefits means tested. Make it difficult for the skivers to laugh at the strivers.
I would also immediately close all current defined benefit public sector pension schemes (with the 60-day
consultation process implemented, of course). Public sector employees would be put into defined contribution schemes. And totally reform the over-generous early retirement terms that some public sector employees have access to.Yep, the first thing a new government should do is deal with the public finances, before any tax cuts by the way). Must be the No.1 priority.
Ideally the current shower holding power should’ve began to sort this already, instead of folding to their backbenchers.
There u go
April 9, 2026 at 20:01 #1762572“people taken off welfare who really shouldnt be on benefits”
Yeah – like rich pensioners, for a start.
“make all benefits means tested”
Agree with you there.
April 9, 2026 at 23:02 #1762600Do i want the UK to be like America? No thanks.
April 9, 2026 at 23:03 #1762601Brexit was based on lies and misinformation. Most of the people behind it have been discredited. Johnson, Bannon, Cummings, not forgetting Trump mini me Farage. The country is still suffering economically from it albeit still being theelephantintheroom. I didn’t accept it at the time and I’m just as angry now. It divided this country and caused nastiness and unpleasantness in a way I’ve never known before. What would I do if the far right got into power? I guess I’ll be too old to campaign against it but I would die realising I’d wasted my whole political life trying to make this country a better place for my children and grandchildren and failing miserably. Much as I’d miss them I hope that they would emigrate but they won’t because they have too many personal ties to this country.
April 10, 2026 at 00:27 #1762611Ah the right with tax cuts , Wilts google Liz Truss … , an aging population living longer and falling birth rate , why don’t you get that taxes have to go up , Jesus we had 12 years of Tory mismanagement that got the country nowhere , that’s why the Tories are in the weeds , if Garage the halfwit had backed away from tax cuts , let’s be realistic please , taking NHS waiting times are very positive …no ?
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
April 10, 2026 at 08:03 #1762630Thanks for you replies. Just stepping in again here.
While the right is still sorting itself out with Reform and the growing Restore base and it would be interesting any thoughts from these people, for the left on here who would you vote for, and would you vote for a party just to keep the right out of power?
April 10, 2026 at 08:39 #1762634Zack The Enlarger wants to ban horse racing but don’t worry women will get bigger breasts by the end of their first term
We are not blessed with strong leaders don’t like the two old parties, can’t trust the greens as I fear the Allah Akbar mob are using them, not a Farage lover(contrary to what gladders believes
) but my cross would have to be with reform with the hope they stop the boats, I suppose that makes me a rwnj
April 10, 2026 at 10:10 #1762646It’s hilarious that the RWNJ element always go back to this breast enlargement thing. They have literally NOTHING else.
Zack Polanski misled Sun readers (and it wasn’t meant to be taken seriously) about hypnotherapy making women’s breasts bigger; Nigel Farage misled the British electorate (and it was meant to be taken seriously) about the benefits of Brexit. Which is worse?
@GSP – if I lived in a marginal seat, I would vote for whoever has the best chance of keeping out the right. Where I live, however, that doesn’t apply.April 10, 2026 at 12:02 #1762665Happy to be corrected on this but I believe that the boats became a much bigger problem after Brexit ( which was instigated by Farage). A bit like Trumps policy of starting wars so he can then end them and then claim to be a peacemaker. And am I right in thinking that the boats have reduced recently thanks to the government working closely with Europe again?
April 10, 2026 at 12:08 #1762668“Happy to be corrected on this but I believe that the boats became a much bigger problem after Brexit ( which was instigated by Farage).”
There’s no need for you to be corrected on that, is it is factually true.
Funny how Nige never mentions that…
