Nico de Boinville on flintam. That was an amazing ride. I know he didn’t win but what a performance of guts and determination by horse and jockey
February 18, 2017 at 15:07 #1287906He also made Sean Bowen look a fool in the opener. Top jockey.
February 18, 2017 at 17:41 #1287953He was super on Beyond Conceit this morning.
February 18, 2017 at 19:47 #1287970He is as good as any jockey currently riding.
It happens to me at least once a season but little is more annoying than a horse keeping the race when it has received a ride that transgresses the rules and gets up by a slim margin. Moore got an 11 day ban for his whip use on Bigbadjohn. I can’t think of another sport where it’s possible to blatantly break the laws, cheat, to gain an unfair advantage and keep the prize. There should be a stewards enquiry with the power to amend the result as if there had been interference, not just the power to penalise the jockey.
Equally annoying is that wind ops do not have to be declared per Zarkandar today.
