I was talkng about in a race ?

Your stone of a difference would put Long Run about 12 lbs clear of Kauto on the ratings.
That’s complete nonsense for a startSam gave the horse a brilliant ride in the 2011 Gold Cup and in the 2010 KG. In case you missed it he won both.
He was beaten twice by the Best chaser since Arkle and in the King George Ruby had loads in hand and nothing Sam could have done would have changed a thing. He had no option but to ask Long Run to quicken and jump fences faster than is comfortable for the horse. He had him spot on at every fence but the horse reverted back to jumping low and brush his hind legs through the fence.
The horse made no major errors Sam never fell off him and did as well as anyone could expect.
You blame Sam for his defeat BUT give no reason why nor point out what he actually did wrong you just make a statement with absolutely nothing to back it up.
Sam has a 50% strike rate 4 wins 4 losses. Pray tell us which of these 4 losing rides do you think Sam should have won on and why?
January 10, 2012 at 18:49 #386326SWC’s problem is he cannot hold the horse. Ruby exposed that failing at Haydock by coming off the fence going down the back , showing Long Run a bit of daylight and having pulled SWC’s arms out the horse started making mistakes. They might decide to put a gag in the horses mouth to give the jockey a bit of control back but given how far behind the movement SWC is now, because he has lost confidence, he might end up performing equine dentistry!?!? They can put who they want on their horse but the partnership has fundemental problems IMHO. I would add, I don’t have anything against the WCs, think Sam is a very good amateur and would be delighted for all involved and particularly the horse were Long run to win another Gold Cup but, while I believe they can do what they want, I will not be backing the horse unless Geraghty rides it.

Absolutely, could not agree more.
