Entries out…..

Not in a mad rush to have an Antepost here, given recent record in the race, but a few appeal this far out…
Time To Get Up – Big hopes for this horse this season, but his run in The Grand Sefton was desperate. That probably wasn’t the right race for him, but he didn’t look right anyway. I think he’s one to forgive though, and this might be more appropriate. On a nice mark too 12’s
Next Destination – Missed The Betfair Chase due to being under the weather, but he could, weather permitting, reappear at Newbury. A lot will probably depend on that. Splitting Galvin and Escaria Ten is solid form in my book, and if he came here off his current mark, then he warrants respect 14’s
Screaming Colours – Reliable type who usually runs his race, but keeps bumping into one. Worth keeping an eye on him though, and if serious interest should he travel 18’s
Achille – Another one who had a decent time of it last year without winning. Could have The Becher to contend with first, but I really like the idea of him here off of 141, which looks a fair mark. He’s a very nice price 40’s
Copperhead – Another at 40’s, and that’s very, very attractive. Yard are back in business, and might be worthwhile drawing a line through last season for him. If back to his best, and the signs from the yard are encouraging, then I can make a strong case for him. Another who might take in Newbury first 40’s
Sam Brown – Bit of a forgotten horse, but could really get his conditions here. Ground wouldn’t have been to liking at Punchestown when last seen, but acquitted himself ok. Clearly had issues last year, he was rarely seen, but if all well, a player here 25’s
The Big Dog – Wouldn’t be overly concerned with his Wexford run, and I’d pay more attention to his win in The National Trial at Punchestown, where he got the better of Screaming Colours. Interesting 20’s
Hill Sixteen – Up against it on bare form, but trainer had other options here, and elects to enter this guy. The type the trainer does well with, but he’ll surely go Aintree first 40’s
Ramses De Teille – Always give him a look, but can be a bit frustrating. Ran well at Haydock yesterday though, and if you can draw a line through his run in this last year, then he’s got to make some appeal, especially when he’s approaching the mark he ran off of three years back, when runner up 25’s
Those are the early eyecatcher’s for me, but no bet for now.

November 22, 2021 at 13:26 #1568547Secret Reprieve 8-1 ew and Time To Get Up 13-1 ew. Off 140 Secret Reprieve has a good chance to follow up.
November 22, 2021 at 15:15 #1568557If next destination was said to be heading here id definitely add him as my second runner
November 22, 2021 at 15:27 #1568561Time to get up
And I would love screaming colours to win a big one. Bridesmaid horse

November 22, 2021 at 18:12 #1568572Will they really want to give Next Destination a really hard race in bottomless ground here ? , I see Native River has an entry , unlikely he,ll run but 25-1 is a silly price and have to have a tickle
25-1 Native River
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 22, 2021 at 19:31 #1568591Id have thought that’s exactly the type of race next destination would thrive in
I want him to be plotted at the grand national really
Hes on a good mark and looks the perfect horse for the race
November 22, 2021 at 19:39 #1568599Colin Tizzard says Chepstow back up plan for Native River and also entered in the Many Clouds race Aintree. Providing he gets ground he needs. Says he ready to run but like over weekend had to withdraw due to not being his ground

November 23, 2021 at 16:48 #1568740Ground at Chepstow in December very likely to be to Native River’s liking – to me this race is a no-brainer for him as he simply doesn’t have the pace for the top Grade 1s on anything other than deep ground anymore and running him now at places like Aintree’s sharp mildmay course seems unfair to him.
Personally, I would target races like the Welsh National/Irish Gold Cup/Grand National/Scotish National or you could always pray for a heavy ground Gold Cup – a total left field option could be the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris over 3m6F which has been run on very soft or heavy ground for the last 5 yrs (the first prize last year was £329K and 6th place won more than Native River did for finishing 4th in the Gold Cup last year).
November 23, 2021 at 19:12 #1568762But we know Aintree Grand national will never be as his owners do not like the race

November 23, 2021 at 21:27 #1568786Yeah I know but with the multiple mods done to the fences over the years and the fact that in his 22 chase career to date he has never hit the deck once you do wonder exactly what they don’t like about the race as it looks tailor made for him.
He clearly has lost a little of that pace he had to copy with a fast run race on decent ground (was completely run off his feet in the Gold Cup & Betway Bowl at Aintree both on good to soft) so to me the obvious thing to do is to stretch him out over a longer distance when they go that stride or two slower, we already know he is capable of doing that under top weight as he did when winning the Welsh National as a 6yr old carrying 11-12 on soft ground.
Just hate to see him continuously having his head pushed off from a very early in those Grade 1s, he deserves better than that.
November 23, 2021 at 22:08 #1568790Id love to see Native in a GN to but it won’t happen , Grey Abbey was fav for a National but when they tried him over the he national fences he was too flippant with them , they didn’t dare run him and have him call , won the bowl instead , I get the feeling they feel the same about Native , the weather may yet decide he goes to the Welsh , if so 25s is an insane price , in soft ground jumping as he can he,ll take a load of handicappers to a pace they simply can’t handle , they,ll spread out all over the place
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 24, 2021 at 00:13 #1568799I’m quite tempted by Native River myself, and I’ll probably add him while he’s still 25’s.
Time To Get Up is still in my plans, but just want to see if they’re considering The Paddy Power Chase. Still think he can improve tons.
November 24, 2021 at 09:10 #1568815Carrying top weight aged nearly 12 will be hard work for Native River imo. Secret Reprieve and Time To Get Up would then have, as it stands, 10 stone and 10 stone 4. Their trainers may well grin from ear to ear by that prospect. And as a backer of them 2 i wouldn’t mind if he ran.
