On the subject of top class female milers, it seems to me that many forget that Goldikova was well beaten by

    Zarkava

over the distance. Now there was a filly :)

No doubt Sky Lantern is a very good filly but what would of happened if she came up against Certify this season. Hopefully there is still time for them to meet up.

Goldikova was an exceptional filly (better than Sky Lantern).

However, people have this romantic idea that she was better than she really was. Zarkava, Makfi, Dream Ahead, Canford Cliffs (Frankel), etc all beat her. Truely brilliant filly/mare, but we have seen numerous better milers in the past ten years.

Sky Lantern’s connections are not interested in who is better than who or who she has beaten or what the form amounts to or where she stands in the all time greats as 4 group 1’s is written in the history books who’s better than who is a matter of opinion.

Here here to that Nathan. :D
Let’s just appreciate and congratulate her on her achievements so far and wish her well for the future, she’s done all that has been asked of her and repaid the patience of the Hannon team over and over. The look on Richard Hughes’s little boys face when she came into the winners enclosure after her victory in the Sun Chariot was priceless and so is she.
    :D
