    RC Powell,

Rather than start another commentators’ thread, you might find something you’d like to comment on or add to on either of these two other longstanding threads:

I can’t change the font because I’m on a tablet so I don’t have control on my keyboard. Miffed smiley

I'd like to live in a place where they cordon off swans...

Searching for those two commentary threads a minute ago revealed to me that the Search facility isn’t working yet.

Search terms tried: commentator, commentary, graysonscolumn, quixall and Lolly’s Mate being nice to people.

No reason why all of those wouldn’t work now, is there? ;-)

Bloody nora at least I can sign in now after a couple of years of being confined to just being a watcher! The old forum would not let me log in, or send me a new password, after numerous attempts I gave up! At least now the forum has changed it has let me register under a different username.

At least this new format works I say!

I’m not sure the ‘freshness’ header is working as it should either. In the Cheltenham section it seems in some cases it’s the time since last post and in others the time since the thread started.

Few who’ve been using a site for a while like change. I recall when the RP changed theirs – outcry. But we’ll all get used to it.

Fair play to Corm. It was a really tough call to make this close to the festival, and he must be pretty downhearted at some of the feedback – helpful as it doubtless is.

I hate to sound trite, but the most important thing to the site are the posters, so as long as everyone hangs in there, I’ll be happy.

Well I got the e-mail saying you need to login with the new password and then change the password. Tried the password 3 times and it failed and threw me out saying don’t come back for 20 minutes. In the end I just clicked on Lost password and then it let me change to my original. Agree that at the moment it’s all a bit of a pain in the arse, but I’m sure it will get better when we all get used to it.

I have noticed that links to images that I previously posted no longer bring the image up but just a generic google search results page, based on the first word of the horse’s name.

As Joe says, the posters are the most important thing on the site but it’s not going to be much comfort if the changes make the site difficult or unappealing for the users.

In my opinion the criticism is mostly constructive and not just being picky for the sake of it.

I needed a password reset and requested it under my username stevecaution but the recovery email is for this old name that I was never able to use before and have never posted under. Is there any way of getting this sorted?

Yours in faith sweetjebus aka stevecaution

Cheer up you happy people, Cheltenham is just around the corner!

If you all stop whinging like teenage girls, later on after I have got all my money on, I will tell you the name of a horse running tomorrow with 10lb+ in hand at a lovely price… I’ve been waiting for this beauty to run forever.

I’ve only ever put one bet up on this forum before, when Menorah won the Greatwood hurdle (long time ago) at a similar price to tomorrows bet.

But no more whinging, or there’ll be no filling your satchels up for Cheltenham girls!

I don’t like the layout – but I suppose I’ll get used to it. Font size is fine for my youthful eyes – but the red font on a wide background isn’t great.

    It is faster though.

One question Mark, is it in Ireland or England? I’ve my eye on one at Leopardstown I’ve been tracking for the bones of a year and wondering are we talking about the same horse!

Not me. Can’t say I’m overly impressed by the new layout. I agree the text is too small and what’s happened to the preview post and all the various faces options? No sign of them for me. And how do you quote someone’s else posts?

I have found it really difficult to navigate, the red is very distracting and the quotes in very large sized fonts look silly against the very small font of the main text..
The notification email got in my spam, so I didn’t see it for a while. Cannot find out how to change my password to something secure and what I can remember.
