If he runs well on his comeback, Cogry will be in the picture for this, so I’ve taken 50-1 ew
February 23, 2021 at 16:54 #1524756Ramses De Teille was definitely my main hope here the last few months, but no entry for him. I’m relieved now that he was never priced up.
I’ll renew my interest though in the other pair who stood out, Talkischeap, and Ok Corral. I’d still be very interested in the pair of them, and good to see them in the entries. A lot will depend on how Talkischeap gets on at Kempton, but he looks ideal for this.
Encouraging to see Ok Corral get an entry, and a good sign that all is well with him.
I’ve been rabitting on about Escaria Ten for a while now, but he’s a bit more high profile now, so the value gone in him a wee bit, whichever race he lines up in. Love this horse, and I can see them using him as their “target” horse for the next few seasons.
I usually give Goose Man a good word, and it’s great to see him come back as good as ever from a long layoff. I’d have him as a proper dark one here.
Finally, I like Remastered. I really liked his attitude on Saturday, and for all it was a desperate renewal of The Reynoldstown, I was very impressed by him. I think he’s a horse going places, and he’s my early fancy for The Ladbroke Trophy next season. He’d be edging it as my #1 for this at the moment.

TalkischeapFebruary 23, 2021 at 22:06 #1524823It will be Milan Native here for me at 16/1 nrnb. He was impressive last year, and I can see a repeat.
I also like Cloth Cap. It’s probably unlikely that the watering will suit him, but that’s the benefit of nrnb. I’ve taken 20/1
February 23, 2021 at 22:20 #1524825Milan Native won the Kim Muir last year.
February 23, 2021 at 22:35 #1524827I know that Kev, that’s the impressive run I was referring to.
February 25, 2021 at 00:03 #1525257Really want to bet Remastered, but I think he’ll go NH Chase. I’m hoping that’s the same target for Escaria Ten.
I’ll definitely bet Ok Corral if he goes, but at this stage it’ll be on the day.
Talkischeap looks really big at 33’s, and I’ll probably bet him before Saturday, but I’ll stick to one here just now with Goose Man.
Goose Man 25’s NRNB
February 25, 2021 at 00:15 #1525259Milan Native going straight to the National last i heard.
February 28, 2021 at 22:00 #1525959Happygolucky 12/1
Bolted up over C&D in December (HTN 15L behind has ran very well since). Beat Paint The Dream well over 20F (looks to have improved for 3m 1) and that rival is rated 147 and ran well in the Scilly Isles which makes HGLs mark of 147 lenient. Ran a cracker in the MP last season and Bailey has targeted this race with him. Many around the front of this market aren’t going. Can see him going off close to Fav for this.

VivasMarch 13, 2021 at 11:49 #1529325I’ve backed Just Your Type (NRNB) at 70/1 EW for this. He is 29th on the list, so I’m afraid he won’t make it. But if he does I think he is a decent EW shot. He ran in the National Hunt Chase two years ago and was leading and travelling well until they turned for home, but didn’t stay the last furlongs. This year he won a chase at Uttoxer and was 3rd behind Royal Pagaille at Haydock. He would run of 10-0, the better ground shouldn’t be a problem.
March 14, 2021 at 10:48 #1529439March 14, 2021 at 13:34 #1529475Top few on my figures are:
Nietzche 175
Pym 166
Admiral’s Secret 164
Aye Right 160
One For The Team 156Big question mark against the top rated Nieztche who takes a significant step up in trip. Trainer is a shrewdie but seems an odd one in this company, though it’s covered in the price (currently 25/1).
Pym looks solid enough at 14/1 (18/1 in a place). Stays the distance, lightly raced of late and sound form. Not madly keen on his trainer in handicaps but you can’t have everything.
Admiral’s Secret has a solid form profile though he is another taking a significant step up in trip and at a comparatively advanced age. Once again though covered by the price (20/1) and in the charge of the ‘Wizard Of The West’ Vic Dartnall.
Aye Right flies the Saltire and shouldn’t be far away but price reflects that.
March 14, 2021 at 15:17 #1529495Pym and Discordantly look the best value to me, going to back them e/w top 7
edit – though the more I look at discordantly the more sketchy the horse looks so may just back Pym.
March 14, 2021 at 16:53 #1529510I was going to back Nieztche [still can’t spell it!] but backed Storm Control [[C/D] instead because I was worried about the trip for him. Thankfully it was NRNB so I’ll put the money on Nieztche. May have to back Aye Right as I’m backing horses that I don’t think will win but don’t want to be wanting them to lose either [eg Frodon, Native River etc].
March 14, 2021 at 19:14 #1529523Aye Right wouldn’t have been out of place in the Gold Cup and isn’t even top weight here. Happygolucky is the right favourite and I’ll back him too, but from an each way angle I can’t see past Aye Right. I’ll play the forecast too.
March 14, 2021 at 22:40 #1529549Alnadam for me here. Progressive type, only raced 2m4f so far, but I’ve no doubt that the step up will suit him.
Alnadam 16/1 EW
March 15, 2021 at 14:14 #1529626Still haven’t bet on the race but I’m leaning towards Aye Right now, seems to have the best form in the race and I doubt we’ve seen the best of him yet this season, e/w top 7 at 11/2 is a must have imo.
