Sharjah doesn’t really fit the bill here, but I think that this is the race he’ll go for, so to save myself guessing over the yards other novices, I’ve had a bet on him here at 20-1

While Sharjah has good placed form at Cheltenham, I suspect he will mop up easier races in Ireland, at 11 years old come March he wont be up to such a race.
Its a race that there are to many ifs or maybes about the either the Arkle or Browns at this stage to look at the race.
But I do hope you get a run for your bet.. :good:

Rather conversely, I agree with you Landafar. I can file this bet under ‘fun’.
Thank you for your good wishes as I will need them

Put up Inthepocket a few weeks at 14/1

    Looks the ideal type

Hopefully won’t be an arkle horse as he was firmly put in his place in the supreme so hoping he ends up here

@Mike007, I suspect Fact to File will go for the Browns Advisory or National Hunt Chase.
His PTP win was 3 miles and the bumper he won was 2.5 miles.
Maybe a National type horse in two or three years time or the Gold Cup, thus the decision to go straight over jumps. Willie did mention he was considering going directly chasing back in March after the Bumper run, so hes obviously seen something.
    Best of luck though :good:

It’s a possibility Landafar. They have others in the yard being potential 3 milers though. I was thinking Mullins may keep him over the intermediate trip for the Festival. Coming 2nd in the 2m Cheltenham Bumper he’s clearly not short of pace. And I don’t know if he will go 3 miles with him from a 2m Champion Bumper. Would be surprised if he went as far as the NH Chase. I’ll keep my eye on it for sure.

Imagine starts his season in a beginners chase today. He looked pretty unfurnished last year but has the frame of a chaser. I’ve backed him today at 4-1, and for the Turners at 50s.

Pleasing enough debut for him there Grass

I’ve sat all day deciding whether or not to add Iroko for this, and finally took the 14’s. He’s my big novice chaser for the season, so had to cover him. Thankfully I can cash him out for NH Chase, but I’ve held my ground there, just in case and all that.

Exact same situation as my main Novice Chaser last year, Banbridge, who I bet early for NH Chase, only to re-focus here. Hopefully Iroko will make it on the day (or for Brown Advisory)

cashed out NH Chase bet, and put some of it here, but not quite as big a betting race for me this.

    Iroko 14’s

I think you are right to cash out on the NH bet, VTC. They are clearly not going down that route, especially after yesterday’s performance.

I watched the race again when I got home and have joined you with the 14/1 here. I suppose he may go for the 3 mile race but it is only a fairly small speculative bet and I’ll take the risk.

He is 7/1 to win any race with Hills.

I suspect Iroko would be a few points shorter if trained by one of Messrs Mullins, Elliott, Henderson or Nicholls.

The ill fated Three Stripe Life was about 6/1 for this race after he won his first race over fences last year.

“I suspect Iroko would be a few points shorter if trained by one of Messrs Mullins, Elliott, Henderson or Nicholls.”

Not necessarily, he’s a general 10s for the 3 miler so bookies have taken the view atm he will end up over 3 at the Festival.

He is still 14/1 with Ladbrokes for the 3 mile race.
