Other factrs in play to Cork surely?

Trainer is only one factor, and let’s be honest- the 4 you mention are seasoned festival winners.

He holds a wide array of options as the trainer has really mentioned 2m 2 1/2 and 3.

Elliot was more set in stone with TSL + that horse was a G1 winning hurdler.

Also TSL’s owner hadn’t a raft of novice chasers like JP has.

Gutting for the yard but JP has Inthepocket for the Turners

Given a nice debut over fences but jumped left and hung left on a few occasions and conceded ground by being on the wrong side turning into the straight and having to come across to where Facile Vega have been all along

The chase track and rail are on the inside at Cheltenham, whereas at Navan they’re on the outside, and I’ve seen horses improve for the switch and reverse form

You’ll occasionally see chasers who jump better right handed perform well at Navan because of that outside rail but fail miserably at Cheltenham

Hopefully they send gaelic warrior here, that was excellent, the jumping to the right never bothered me last season, wont bother me this season either

Inthepocket would be my pick here purely because i think he’s a 2 1/2 miler and not the 2miler he’s been campaigned as since debuting over 2m4 lol.

GW shaped + raced as if this would be perfect. Issue for me is that zest + enthusiasm will be interesting to see left handed. He migt need tucked up in cover.

The two supposed 3 milers, Klassical Dream + GW are both horses i’d sooner entertain here at this stage, but wouldn’t be tempted to back right now. KD was so slick i think this would suit him better also.

The Drinmore will be interesting this weekend, Found A Fifty could look a massive price @ 20s in a few days, however, you just need to see him more if you ask me.

Gaelic Warrior jumping markedly right in a Cheltenham championship race and finish placed again. Wouldn’t be a surprise to some of us.

Wouldn’t ever say he’s a betting proposition for me anyway Mike, he’ll probably rock up at Limerick win again right-handed and be shortened again. Looked good + the times seem good, but come March i’ll either take him on or swerve the race completely. Given his Chelt form and quirks it’s most likely it’ll be the former.

Wouldn’t back him for anything myself after yesterday

He pulled all the way round and found nothing

Doesn’t suggest going up in trip will help at all

He’s not quick enough for 2 miles to beat the very best as I intimated in the Arkle thread. He got outpaced when they quickened yesterday. That’s not the first time he has disappointed at Leopardstown on quicker ground over 2 miles. He’s not a bad horse over 2 miles when the ground is very soft but it’s time he went up in trip.

I think Facile Vega is starting to have the look of a horse the bookmakers like.

He pulled all the way round and emptied yesterday

Surely he will only waste even more energy if he ran over further?

    He also jumped right

Not for me at this stage and if he continues to race the wrong way round he will never fulfill his potential

My fancy Imagine going to Kinloch Brae next. They’ve been nice and careful with his schedule this year- he’s only 6 and it’s good they haven’t pulled the guts out of him. I think he could be Elliott’s Gold Cup horse next year.
I wonder if American Mike will go to the Scilly Isles for his retrieval mission and then the BANC if he goes well.

FYI – Turners are the sponsor – the race is the Golden Miller.

Racing Post reports Il Est Francais is going to be entered for this race. He is 7/4 with Hills but they are already NRNB. According to Oddschecker, the other firms are still offering a double figure price, so must reckon he will not run.
