3.15 Wincanton 2m5 H/C Chase $6,506

I’m going to oppose favourite He’s the Gaffer who hasn’t really put up a fast time in these conditions while  4yo Obelix’s last run doesn’t impress hugely either. I think  E Lavelle’s Stern (Cleandries selection too) fancied on recent runs and who ran comnmendably against some well rated opposition on heavy at Newbury before pulling up could show improvement  and is a value bet at 13/2. Jockey Barry Fenton has a good record around Wincanton too. The claimer puts me off Miss Shakira and Alphabetical is certainly  worth watching too.

Of the horses that did run i laid out 23pts to a level stake & i got back 20.58pts  to sp ….4no were 2nd
