I’ve been fiddling about following these over the last month or so, and the payouts are usually pretty generous even if fancied horses fill the places.
The only criteria that I have been placing on each race is that it must be 5 or 6 furlongs, and have at least 8 runners, and a maximum of 5 ‘lines’ per race.
All tricasts are a £1 stake.

You’re right about restricting the number of lines. I had a couple where the first three in the betting were first three in the race, and I didn’t make any money on the race!
