If anyone hasn’t seen Colm McCormack’s ride on Fiddler’s Flight at Sedgefield in February they should because it’s a certainty for ride of the year. You can youtube it but only get the last couple of flights. The full race can be viewed on the ATR website if you search Fiddler’s Flight’s form. Their running report reads: “soon detatched in rear, headway into 3rd after 3 out, mistake next, soon ridden, staying on when blundered badly and rider lost irons last, rallied final 50 yards, led narrowly final strides.”

Jumps Horse of the Year – Faugheen, his achiements last season are probably slightly forgotten but he put up a performance for the ages when taking the Irish Champion Hurdle.

Flat Jockey of the Year – Pat Smullen, is in the right place more often than not

Jumps Jockey of the Year – Richard Johnson, deservedly won a first jockey’s title
