Lol HDLG for reminding me of the funniest man on TV the much missed and irreplaceable Rik Mayall.
Not much in The Young Ones, Bottom and New Statesman that would be allowed now on the Beeb but Rik was a one off..

So with the Nanny state in mind I have to warn that this sketch contains bad language that some might find offensive Jac

That’s one of the best episodes of Bottom , Ade in drag requires no dialogue , Chezza is indeed correct , I do get his humour , like myself a load is tongue in cheek

As for Rik , he ran off to get married to his wife ( who was his mistress at the the time and pregnant ) while dating a pregnant Lise Mayer , she lost the baby …yet forgave and remained a friend …. He must have been some fella … He also did this , his talents had no ends

Also no one has admitted to voting for Gamble …. Are we to take it someone’s finger slipped

My instinct tells me it was a military gentleman. I am eighty percent certain of this. My vote went to Davies early on that brought him to three. You really must pay more attention Ground, well if you are insinuating that my finger slipped.
When I won this compo nine years ago, if memory serves, I got 17 votes and Betlarge – Mike, was three behind ( or might have been two ) I was accused of skulduggery back then by Tank in his older casing and robes.
I had no interest in winning this year. I announced I was a fraud – wanted the lounge closed – hit Davies below the belt – and annoyed his coterie of clicksters.

    I nominated gamble,
tactically, I could have voted gamble
I however voted for the dark horse BigG
The Young Fella was in the gamble fan club, he changed his username to Lost Soldier, could he have voted for gamble?
    No, he’s blocked…

The truth will always out in the end!

So basically, Nathan cunningly nominated gamble, to divert half the clinically insane candidate vote away from Chezza.

And Nathan voted for BigG, reputedly a 7ft Scottish hardman who Muhammad Ali once hid behind a sofa from and the Emperor Hadrian went a step further with, having a dirty great big wall built to keep the G man at bay.

No chance of facing any post-ballot insurrection with BigG as your “Minder.”

The whole sorry saga has been one big conspiracy against Chezza from the get go!

    “Hands up who likes Chezza?!”

BigG would have been a weak minder this year
However his runny nose and snot rag would have scared off any wrong doing

The question should be who wouldn’t vote gamble?

Chezza would be too busy voting for himself,
    gamble voted for Ian
    I voted BigG
    Meydan voted Sporting Sam
    Homer voted Davies
    Blackcountry likewise
Ginger saw no value in any of it
    Cormack was on holiday
    HDLG didn’t vote gamble
    That leaves
    ..

“Chezza would be too busy voting for himself”

Tbf, it would be a sad apology for a narcissist who didn’t vote for himself.

I can clear the air a little
I believe Colin may have an alter ego in another place under the guise of Colonel – does that get you anywhere nearer the truth of my thinking 🤔

I am not replying as readily as I could as I am trying to enjoy the last five days of Xmas and securing one vote in a popularity contest. Lost soldier was the best deductive choice – he made a stand Nathan as you may remember.

WTF is going on here. As for being a minder, I can spit phlegm at 20
paces into an offending eye at the moment. Mind you, when I was under
physical attack at one point many moons ago, I had the great idea to
nut this fella, who was about 6 inches smaller than me (and happened
to be in Possession of a claw hammer), and then try and stare him
out when the pain in my nose almost had me in tears. Fortunately he
backed away and put his hands up thinking I was half crazy, he may
    have been half right.

I can’t go post mortems, seen far too many. So if this fills in an empty
space, I’ll fling it in. I voted for Sporting Sam, because I believe he
put in enough horsey work last year that would have had pricewise running
    for Cover.

I like Nathan very much, he is the type of decent character you know who
would have your back. He has worked tirelessly year in year out and this
forum is all the better for it.

Ian, Chezza, Sir Cherryade, wait for it, I actually like very much too,
and I’m pretty sure he knows this. His style is a mix of self deprecation,
a tad pantomime villian although smarter than the average bear with many a
well written insightful piece. Once again, he knows it. The forum
is all the better for him, awkward ******* he my be at times. (In the nicest
    possible way)

Seeing as he has been brought up as the cog that turns and twists this sordid
production, Gamble is a revelation. Is there anyone who comes near his bizarre
genius. The poor fellow gets 1 vote and those of us with limitatations of
stability are supposed to have followed him out the door, to down Chezza……well
    we didn’t !

I’ve never voted tactically in my puff, it’s just not my thing. So maybe these
burning embers might just get blown out and we can get back to convivial
squabbling. Just put em up (no nutting allowed)

Chezza can’t possibly just accept he was beaten on merit, so Chezza will cling onto the conspiracy theories until they fade and blend to become the stuff of TRF Legend, that ever-evolving living tapestry in these Great Halls.
