Well you would say that Gnats – you and Avis have both run a clever campaign however I do think your support is more sustained.
I have you at 8/11 and Avis at 6/4 ( in a 100 plus book )
I like guessing who voted for who and would like to thank the military gentleman for my solitary vote. Although Mac nominated Tippi I think he voted secretly for AP. He might have voted for you but sees you as a a die hard committed writer. AP misses the Tank vote. The delightful Meydan click voted for Sam. Had Lake still been around he would have abstained. All of the Avis supporters are mostly addicts and addicts and the odd compulsively vote early. The very readable BigG has done well.

Strange you also went for the hitchhikers 42 – Maybe Altreides will spoil the party and up it to 43.

Nathan would be a worthy winner on his comedy genius Hitler video TRF spoof alone – Chezza was dying with laughter at that.

Whatever the final result, Chezza is endebted to the manifestly-erudite Zilzal for introducing Chezza, somewhat belatedly in life, to the truly outstanding word: “postprandial.”

I think I’m a beneficiary to a bit of forum marmite on Avis, to what extent I’m not sure. I personally think he is fully deserving of winning this years award.
I’m not sure if Mike007 is overly bothered by these polls but if inclined could vote the nearest challenge at the time. Has Ian got on the tits of anyone else?
If Tank was alive on here he may have abstained from voting AP in favour of trying to stop Davis winning

I campaigned for TAPK one year and he had a good lead. The nearest challenger got the tactical votes to down him
ironically I campaigned Billion another year who ended up joint winner with TAPK

42 was my guess based on poor memory of previous years, plus its my age..

I post far too much, am far too opinionated and don’t shirk a robust debate – it’s a miracle I got nominated at all, let alone got as many votes (for which I am genuinely touched and truly grateful) as I have.

But I just can’t help myself – I do love it here, I’m cursed with an opinion on virtually everything and there are so many interesting (and witty!) contributors to interact with.

Yes BigG, I recall you once mentioned the significance. I did watch wall to wall Tina Turner yesterday night – specifically her Arnhem concert celebrating her fifties years of blasts. She wore it reasonably well at 69 but still had the voice of trouper and had the assistance of four lovely almost naked nubiles for surplus agility. She ended the concert prancing along a two foot crane jib suspended 40 feet above the 33000 crowd blasting out Nutbush her most memorable song. She ended the song in the cradle. I then watched a recording of the Moody blues – Days of Future Passed of Knights in White satin fame. Voices still intact at around the same age. I turned in at 3am after carefully putting away the empty. I slept until 1230pm and felt right as rain with no evidence of hangover from the litre of wine. I am having eggs prepared with mushrooms and will enjoy my two bird Frankensteinian turkey with Bubble and squeak and Branston at an early evening hour.
