Makes sense
Can’t see anyone outside of Scunthorpe playing for that side.
Taunton will overtake them within 20 years.
I’ll support who I like, don’t need to justify myself to anyone. More important things in life anyway.

December 22, 2021 at 19:10 #1573966Liverpool signed Kevin Keegan from Scunthorpe in 1971, for the princely sum of £33,000. That wouldn’t even pay the weekly wage of a journeyman Championship player these days.
December 22, 2021 at 19:29 #1573969Nasty stuff from Ttc
Surely someone should. Have a quiet word
December 22, 2021 at 20:00 #1573974Nasty stuff all round tbh Ricky – and for once we’re not involved.

Lighten up TRFers and calm down calm down – as Nathan’s Liverpool mates would say.
Value Is EverythingDecember 22, 2021 at 20:02 #1573976Wish I’d voted for Nathan now.
Can I change my vote?
Value Is EverythingDecember 22, 2021 at 20:16 #1573986Another ‘Pool hero Ray Clemence ex- Scunthorpe too. As was Ian Botham I think.
Anyway – this is supposed to be FUN. Can we stop having a go at each other, I’ve edited out some of the nasty stuff (and references to it) on the thread, next step will be to edit out the key protagonists.
December 22, 2021 at 20:25 #1573989I’ve changed the number topics per page so they all appear on one page as I think Gamble is right, two of the topics got a bit lost out on page 2.

It’s meant to be
Good King whenitlasts and
good will and kindness to all in this Christmas season
but behind the net curtains
all over this little land
They are all wringing their hands
and everyone’s quietly seethin’ !December 22, 2021 at 23:55 #1574046The standard surely has to be
Whose contributions judged over the year have you
enjoyed or appreciated the most. It is personal.Appreciation can be more weighted than enjoyment or vice versa.
I appreciated Ginger’s stand
over Princess Latifa’s removal
and his well considered and solid replies to the Covid conundrum. I did not agree with all his political statements but that is minor. I think his contributions to horseracing were as good as ever.
As for enjoyment Davies and Tatters have to be mentioned. On balance Davies would have got my vote if I had not voted for Ginger. He (Gonger) has just one vote and it was mine. Nathan deserves this title too – he has come close. I would say 90% of the names selected deserve to win it which is quite strange because that suggests somebody doesn’t
December 23, 2021 at 01:31 #1574053The pressure is ratcheting up
Don’t you feel it
It’s almost in the air
It’s getting very near Xmas
You are supposed to erm
enjoy yourself…

( but not too everyone’s taste )December 23, 2021 at 06:27 #1574081Like King Whenitlasts at this wintry sometimes cruel time of year we should spare a thought for the poor, those left outside in the cold carrying just one point to survive on.
They should keep an eye out for a little bird, namely the Xmas robin, to bring succour and rescue them from their despair.
December 23, 2021 at 10:47 #1574096Thanks for your kind words gamble, although do hope it goes to someone POTY means more to,

Another one logged in now who’s never posted but will be able to vote ‘Clueless Lion’ So these awards should be treated as just a bit of end of year fun and not worth the paper they’re not written on (nap)
