Ginger,in my opinion this being a horseracing forum the winner of ‘Poster of the year’ should be knowledgeable in many aspects of the sport from Courses,Horses,Betting,Handicapping (you can be forgiven Brampour) to tissues, percentages and most importantly imo running a profitable thread.
Nice of you to say so Gord, but I think you are wrong.
I think there are many more knowledgeable / worthy of "poster of the year" than I. Both in the nominations and not even on the list. I’ve had a good few months betting recently, but that does not matter. "Racing" is not "betting". It can’t be as good a forum as I thought if I win it.Steeplechasing brought much more knowledge to the table on the whip debate than I did. Always interesting and informative posts on other subjects too.
Drone has much better manners and language. Even when he disagrees with me, I still somehow come out thinking he’s on my side. Not afraid to apologise and delete stuff either, if he thinks he might have wronged someone.
THM himself has a very profitable thread and knows the Irish scene.
Very much enjoyed Eliza’s wonderful posts about subjects we seldom here of. Giving a totally different angle on things with eloquent delivery. Even though I disagreed with some issues, that’s the whole point of a discussion. Had she been a frequent poster in the last month, no doubt would’ve had more than one vote.
Then there’s our very own "agent provocateur", a certain King Fisher of controversy! Keeping it "real". Your DLAP is perhaps the most entertaining personal thread on here. You might have won last year but for a couple of members changing their votes. I certainly wouldn’t change my vote if you were to be in the reckoning again this time (which you are). Some might be surprised at this Gord, but I think you’ve mellowed over this year.
Rob Knows the North scene like no other.
Billion is the systems man, who seems to keep that section going on his own.
Eclipse First, she’s added to the forum in the short time she’s been here.
Then there’s Pinza, there’s been more said about him in the last month than anyone else, including those at the BHA. Hope he’s allowed back at some point in the future.
Irish Stamp is always interesting to listen to, particularly on the French scene. Why hasn’t Martin got any votes yet?
Your campaign manager of last term Nathan Hughes, has now jumped ship and doing a fine job with Billion. Nathan seems to get in to every nook and cranny of this forum.
Having myself been banned from two forums by moderators I could not see eye to eye with… We are very lucky to have Cormack (and Matron). Our resident owner knows his stuff about racing too.
Like Kasparov says, can’t say I’ve heard of Razeen before.
It is enough of a compliment to be nominated in this company, all of which would be very worthy winners.Value Is EverythingDecember 19, 2011 at 11:03 #383234Drone has much better manners and language. My manners and language have in general disintegrated from those of a Gentleman to those of a Churl in recent months. I feel I should apologise to Mr Pilsen, but can’t quite bring myself to do so

On your side? I have a soft spot for those who revitalise the remembrance of things past and for those who strike familiar – sometimes harmonic – chords
I look in the mirror and see reflected a comforting vision from an Orwellian year: the handsome young man is called Gingertipster and he went to bed evey night with the numbers 500 476 455 444 rolling around his brain, and couldn’t sleep for wondering why bookmakers were so generous in routinely going tips from yours-to-mine when the easily-fractionated 488 is the stair-riser that doesn’t necessitate a 9 degree bend of the leg. This was the first valuable lesson learnt…

December 19, 2011 at 13:22 #383253As I thought… no.
A merryhappy to you as well, Drone. I suppose
December 19, 2011 at 20:56 #383303Some might be surprised at this Gord, but I think you’ve mellowed over this year.
Ginge are you saying you prefer me as a humble Kingfisher, nibbling away at little fish, although i did catch a Big one in the summer!
I’m rather pleased i dont call myself ‘The legendary King of Ante-Post’ ruler of the Ante-Post Kingdom anymore as i just dont do the name justice.TAPK was different class to me,i could do with him back to sort my ‘Gone Fishing’ thread out,he wouldn’t know what its like to be a Loser!
Oh no he did Lose something didn’t he!
December 20, 2011 at 17:50 #383415Yes Gord/Fisher/King,
TAPK was a loser at something.
A sore one it seems.
How many did you "lose" by last year? I don’t believe I made the difference.
Yes, I changed my vote, I was not the only one. Perfectly entitled to do so. I thought Bob was a more worthy winner than you last year, for the work he put in.As I am sure you noticed, my vote has gone down. That is the voters perogative, it is all ok. At least it will enable someone more worthy to win it. Feel a vote for me is more a vote for quantity over quality anyway. Hopefully it’ll be you Gord, so that you don’t keep on about it for another year.

If people want to vote for me because they think I deserve it, then am grateful. Certainly not going to apologise to you for last year, or campaign for people’s vote, it’s their choice.

From memory i think i lost by one vote Ginge, YOURS!
As you later confessed to!
I had a phenomenal year, last year and i confidently posted my Ante-Post wagers on here,my problem if you want to call it that is i court controversy so i’m not going to win votes for anything that others on here diplomatically disagree with.If i wanted to curry favour with others i wouldn’t put up threads called ‘Whippin it up’ and ‘Brown Nosing’ so you can rest assured its not moi thats messing with your votes,i’ve even written you a couple of more than complimentary posts on here singing your praises as i genuinely hope YOU win,YOU deserve it,i dont, not this year anyway!
December 21, 2011 at 12:39 #383531By mentioning (in your opinion) me costing you the title on this thread four times, as well as in other threads; it’s obvious you still feel embittered about what happened last year Kingfisher.
For the sake of the forum, have changed my vote again, this time in your favour as a gesture of good will. Hope you win it Gord. You had a great spell tipping last year mate. Although I don’t think I did anything wrong, never meant to cause offence.
Happy Christmas
Mark
Value Is EverythingDecember 21, 2011 at 17:07 #383563Ginge,you have to laugh,we sound like a pair of kids bickering over the most beautiful girl in the Village, she fancies me something rotten because i’m a cocky little B*****d with the looks to match, but she fancies you because you are the intellect who can Wow her with percentages, she’s torn between us and cant make her mind up.Is it me,fine judge of Wine,Restaurants and of course Horses or is it you with your erm…..Ginger Hair.Just as she’s about to make the ‘right’
decision in rolls the ‘Six Billion dollar man’with his bionic Schlong and steals her from my,i mean our grasp!
Chin up soldier its entertaining anyway!Wait till Friday when ‘The Juggler’ steps in!

It’s ironic,
If you lose this year’s title Gord, it won’t be me to blame. It’ll be the bloke who did such a good job for you as campaign manager last year.Nathan’s thread is whipping up the Systems crowd to vote for the Billion Dollar Man.
Billion keeps that section together anyway, so deserves it.
Value Is EverythingDecember 21, 2011 at 23:12 #383624Just a bit of fun Ginge, just a bit of fun. A bit unfair to Gord to say I done a good job campaigning him last year as He done all the hard work on several threads ‘Prophet with F’ and ‘TAPK notes’ were gold dust to his followers of which he has many going way back to his days on c4 teletext and his pink exotic dancing shoes. Gordon is still the 1/3 fav for this despite his not so good year imo. I will be delighted whoever wins whether it be Kingfisher, Billion, Gingertipster or a late runner from the back just thought it would be nice to give Billion a bit of cheer and encouragement this time.

December 22, 2011 at 00:35 #383632Of course it’s a bit of fun Nathan, and of course Gord did "all the hard work" in his threads. But you did a good job too in your cheerleading. As you’ve done this time around for Billion.
Of course it’s a bit of fun. Shame both yourself and Gord didn’t think so last year, when I moved my one vote to Bob. It is ironic, that TAPK’s old campaign manager has set up a thread asking people to vote for Billion this year. So probably cost Gord a lot more than my one vote.
Value Is EverythingDecember 22, 2011 at 11:31 #383687Keep digging Ginge.
People vote for who they want to win regardless of any campaign or in the case of last year some people vote or change their vote at the last minute because they want someone to lose as when 3 votes went astray.
A snippet from last year

May be Nathan, people did not like being told who to vote for. Once may be funny, twice is fine. But you did go on and on.
May be people thought they could not face someone going on and on about it, if he did win it.

You want it all ways Ginges….
